Chapter 10

An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Elizabeth City to borrow the sum of thirty thousand ($350,000.00) dollars, and to issue the bonds of said county therefor, for the purpose of paying the expenses incurred by the county in making additions to the county jail and installing new cells therein; making additions to the record vault of the clerk's office and installing new fixtures therein; adding one jury room to the courthouse for the use of petit and grand jurors, and for installing a central heating plant in the addition to the jail for the purpose of heating said jail and courthouse of said county, and to authorize and require the said board of supervisors to levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in said county, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund to retire the principal thereof at maturity.

Chapter 98

An ACT to validate an ordinance of the city of Hopewell adopted by the city council of the city of Hopewell on the 29th day of August, 1927, authorizing the issue of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) worth of bonds, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of which is to be used to construct a jail and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of which is to be used to institute and maintain sewerage and culverts and other public improvements in the city of Hopewell, and to validate an election held on the 8th day of November, 1927, submitting to the qualified voters of the city of Hopewell the right to pass on the issuing of said bonds, pursuant to chapter 122, of the Code of Virginia; and authorizing the city of Hopewell to issue fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) worth of bonds, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) as jail bonds and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) as sewerage and other public improvement bonds.

An ACT to repeal chapter 49 of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia, approved April 18, 1927, for the protection of foxes in the counties of Fluvanna and Goochland.

An ACT to authorize the town of Cape Charles to borrow $58,000.00 and issue bonds therefor for the purpose of refunding outstanding notes or certificates of indebtedness.

Chapter 102

An ACT to repeal chapter 388 of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia, of 1926, entitled an act for the protection of foxes or other fur-bearing or hair-bearing animals in Amelia, Nottoway, Lunenburg, Brunswick, Charlotte, Franklin, Tazewell, Washington and Chesterfield counties, and to provide punishment for the violation thereof, and an amendment thereto, approved April 18, 1927, in so far as the counties of Lunenburg and Franklin are affected thereby.

Chapter 103

An ACT authorizing the commission of game and inland fisheries to exercise full control of the hunting and fishing rights and privileges in all forest and watershed areas in this State which are now owned, or which may hereafter be acquired for this purpose, by the United States government.
