Chap. 70.—An ACT to prohibit importing or bringing certain cattle from
another State or country into this State for breeding purposes; to pro-
hibit the use in this State, for breeditg purposes, of certain cattle imported
or brought into this State from another State or country; and to prescribe
penalties for violations thereof. [H B 54]
Approved February 29, 1928.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it
shall be unlawful for any person to import or bring from any other
State or country into this State, for breeding purposes, any bull
which is not registered, or entitled to registration, in some recog-
nized standard and accredited herd of cattle, or three-quarter blood
of such breed.
2. It shall be unlawful for any person to use for breeding pur-
poses in this State, any bull imported or brought from any other
State or country into this State, unless such bull be registered, or
entitled to registration, in some recognized standard and accredited
herd of cattle, or three-quarter blood of such breed.
3. Any person violating any provision of this act shall be guilty
of a misdemeanor and upon conviction, shall be fined not less than
fifty dollars nor more than five hundred dollars, and confined in
jail not less than one month, nor more than six months.
4. If any section or part of this act should, for any reason, be held
unconstitutional by a competent court, such judgment shall not
affect the validity of the parts not so held.
