Chap. 32.—An ACT making it unlawful for any person to permit dogs to run
at large in the county of Northumberland during the months of April, May,
June, July, August and September of cach year. [Hi B 44]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That it
shall be unlawful for any person to permit any dog to run at large
in the county of Northumberland during the months of April, May,
June, July, August and September of each year. lor the purposes
of this act a dog shall be deemed to run at large while roaming,
running or self- hunting off the property of its owner or keeper and
not under its owner's or keeper's immediate control.
2. It shall be the duty of the game warden in said county to
enforce the provisions of this act, and any person who after having
been notified by any landowner, game Ww arden or other officer of the
law that his dog or dogs are running at large, permits his dog or
dogs to run at large thereafter, shall be deemed to have violated the
provisions of this act, and shall be liable to a fine of not less than
Ave nor more than twenty dollars for each violation.
3. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force from its
passage.
