in relation to funding of the public debt, et cetera; the opening of the fund-
ing for one year from the date of the passage of this bill and the assuming
ot Virginia's two-thirds and the discontinuing of issuing West Virginia’s one-
third certificates. [S B 146]

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sec-
tion twenty-six hundred and one of the Code of Virginia in relation
to the settlement of the public debt be amended and re-enacted so
as to read, as follows: That one vear from the passage of this bill
the commissioners of the sinking fund are to fund outstanding evi-
dence of debt due by this Commonwealth and not heretofore funded
under act of February twentieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two
All bonds issued under the provisions of this section shall carry
semi-annual interest from the period next preceding date of funding.
2. And whereas the State of West Virginia has made a final.
settlement of her obligations to the Commonwealth of Virginia as
decreed by the United States supreme court in the Virginia versus
West Virginia debt settlement case, be it enacted that in case of
such funding as set out above in which settlement a West Virginia
certificate would formerly have been issued Virginia century certifi-
cates only be issued, and only to the extent of Virginia’s two-thirds.
