An ACT to authorize, empower and require the board of supervisors of Grayson county to borrow the sum of sixty thousand ($60,000.00) dollars, and to issue bonds therefor, for the surveying, repairing, improving, constructing and hard-surfacing certain roads and bridges in Old Town magisterial district of said county

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 70 of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact the charter of the town of Martinsville, in the county of Henry
An ACT authorizing the county school board of Craig county to borrow money, not in excess of $50,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, to be used for the construction and permanent improvement of public school property in the county of Craig, and requiring the board of supervisors of the said county annually to levy taxes to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the State Highway Commission of Virginia to join with the State Roads Commission of Maryland to purchase the interstate highway bridge, and approaches, over the Potomac river near Point of Rocks, Maryland, and to use funds appropriated for the construction of roads and bridges on the State highway system for such purpose.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Greene county to levy an additional capitation tax, which shall be applied in aid of the public schools of the said county, or for such other county purposes as the said board shall determine.
An ACT to validate and legalize the issuance of $85,000.00 in water bonds of the town of New Market, in the county of Shenandoah, to provide that the said bonds shall not be redeemable until the expiration of ten years from the date of issuance, that the interest on the said bonds shall be paid semi-annually, and to fix the place of payment of the said bonds and the interest thereon.
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Clintwood in the county of Dickenson to borrow a sum of money, not in excess of $30,000.00, and to issue the bonds of the said town therefor, for the purpose of constructing a water supply system and sewerage system, and for the purpose of improving the streets in the said town, and requiring the said council to annually levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in the said town, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Brookneal, in the county of Campbell, approved February 20, 1908, as heretofore amended
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to issue bonds to the maximum amount of $200,000.00, to be used for the following purposes:
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to allow public officials in Virginia, both State and local, to deposit records in the Virginia State Library, approved March 15, 1918, and to authorize the State Librarian to remove such records to the State Library in certain cases.
An ACT to authorize the town council of the town of Wachapreague in the county of Accomac, to borrow not exceeding $15,000.00 and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of installing a water supply and sewer system.
An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to authorize the board of supervisors of Isle of Wight county to issue bonds or other obligations of said county, for the purposes of reimbursing certain road associations and of financing the construction of certain sections of the State highway system in said county; to levy taxes to pay the interest on and to create a sinking fund for said bonds, approved March 14, 1924; and to repeal an act entitled, an act to authorize the county school board of Isle of Wight county to borrow money not in excess of $20,000, and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of defraying expenses incurred and to be incurred in erecting and furnishing a new public school building at Carrsville in Windsor school district; and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity, approved March 14, 1924.
An ACT to prohibit school boards of counties, cities and towns from borrowing money except under express authority of law; to declare any loan negotiated by any such board without authority of law to be utterly void; to authorize local school boards to borrow money on short time loans, with certain restrictions; to prohibit every such school board from borrowing money under any general statute in force the day before this act takes effect, and from expending, or contracting to expend in any fiscal year, any sum of money in excess of the funds available for that fiscal year unless in each case the board of supervisors of the county, or the council of the city or town, as the case may be, shall first approve the same; to provide for the removal from office of any member of a school board knowingly violating, or voting to violate any provision of this act; and to repeal an act entitled an act authorizing district or city school boards to borrow money on short time loans, approved March 16, 1918.
An ACT requiring all county funds to be paid to the treasurer of the county and expended through his office on legally authorized warrants.
An ACT to provide that whenever any new road is hereafter opened and established in the county of Mecklenburg, and under existing law, the expenses incident thereto would be a charge on the said county, the said expenses shall be borne by the district in which the said road lies.
An ACT to authorize incorporated towns to acquire land or quarry rights in land and to quarry stone and manufacture crushed stone.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2116 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by an act approved March 28, 1922, in relation to the issuance of county bonds for road and bridge construction and improvement.
An ACT to extend the time for collecting taxes and levies accounted for by county, city and town treasurers, and not returned delinquent.
An ACT authorizing the council of the town of Wakefield to borrow not exceeding $50,000 and to issue bonds of the said town therefor for the purpose of advancing the money to the State highway commission under the provisions of an act approved March 21, 1924, entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to anticipate by counties or otherwise the construction of the State highway system, approved March 15, 1920, and to provide for the payment of the interest on said bonds and the redemption thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize, empower and require the board of supervisors of Grayson county to borrow the sum of $30,000.00 and to issue bonds therefor for the repair, improvement and construction of certain roads and bridges in Wilson, Elk Creek and Providence magisterial districts of said county.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 13 of an act entitled an act to provide for opening and keeping in repair the public roads of Pulaski county
An ACT to authorize the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia, to borrow a sum of money not to exceed one hundred thousand ($100,000.00) dollars, and issue bonds therefor, to cover the cost of improvements and additions to the water system of said city.
An ACT to amend chapter 448 of the acts of assembly of 1920 in relation to a bond issue for roads in the county of Carroll, by adding thereto a new section to be numbered 7-a.
An ACT authorizing the county school board of Madison county to borrow money for the purpose of paying off existing indebtedness of said board, and to issue its bonds therefor, and to require the board of supervisors of said county to levy a tax to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to require the approval of the qualified voters of the county of Washington on certain local questions; to prohibit the board of supervisors of the said county from appropriating the county levy for certain purposes; to require the division superintendent of schools and members of the board of supervisors of the said county to be bonded, and to make them liable on their official bonds in certain cases; and to limit the rates of levy in the said county; also, to authorize and direct the county school board of Washington county to borrow a sum not in excess of two hundred and fifty thousand dollars and to issue its notes therefor, the proceeds to be used to pay the existing school indebtedness of the school districts of the county and to replace funds expended during the present year for indebtedness incurred during the last preceding year or years; and providing for the levy and collection of a tax for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Prince Edward county to levy an additional district school tax of not exceeding fifty cents on the one hundred dollars, to be used for interest and sinking fund requirements of loans and bond issues in such districts.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Culpeper county to issue bonds, or other obligations of said county, on behalf of said county for a sum not exceeding $10,000.00 for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of the prorata share of Culpeper county towards the initial cost of the District Home for the Poor for the said county and the counties of Prince William, Fairfax, Fauquier, and the city of Alexandria.
An ACT to provide for holding the courts of the twenty-seventh judicial circuit of Virginia, and who may hold the same, and the pay of the judge holding said court, and as to the other counties in said judicial circuit reimbursing the county in which said court is held for part of the pay of said judge so holding said court.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Elkton, in Rockingham county, Virginia
An ACT authorizing the boards of supervisors of Prince Edward, Cumberland, Charlotte, Buckingham and Nottoway counties to appropriate money for the construction and maintenance of a community hospital to be located at Farmville, Virginia.
An ACT to allow the board of supervisors of Buchanan county to proceed with the construction of roads, on the payment to the clerk of the damages assessed by commissioners under section 1980, of chapter 84 of the Code, and to provide an emergency.
An ACT to authorize, empower and direct the board of supervisors of Sussex county, to levy an additional tax not to exceed twenty cents on the assessed valuation on all property subject to local taxation for public school purposes, in Stony creek school district of said county, to pay the interest and create a sinking fund to pay off the existing bonded indebtedness of said district incurred for public school purposes.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 1720 and 1721 of the Code of Virginia, both of which sections are in chapter 72 of the said Code, on regulating the practice of embalming, and the transportation and disposition of dead bodies.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to provide for the construction of overhead and underpass crossings of railroads by State highways, and for the elimination of existing grade crossings on State highways, and to provide for the payment of the costs thereof
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Pittsylvania county to provide for the preparation and review of estimates for expenditures and revenue, and to establish a budget system for all departments, divisions, officers, commissions, boards and agencies receiving or asking financial aid from the county of Pittsylvania, and to provide for the proper control and supervision of the budget accounts and of the accounts relating to the financial affairs of the county.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 27 to 32, inclusive, as here- tofore amended, of the charter of the town of Woodstock, Virginia
An ACT to create a commission to represent the State in arranging and carrying out a program for the celebration of the bicentennial of the birth of George Washington, and to define the powers and duties of the commission.
An ACT to refund to the city of Richmond the sum of three thousand, two hundred and thirty-three and 79/100 dollars, representing the tax paid by it on motor vehicle fuel from July 1, 1923, to December 31, 1923.
An ACT to permit the board of visitors of the College of William and Mary to dispose of certain parcels of land.
An ACT to prohibit the issuance of certificates of deposit, or other negotiable instrument of its indebtedness, by any bank, including banks of deposit and discount, savings institutions, savings societies and trust companies, except upon certain terms and providing a penalty for the violation thereof.
An ACT to authorize the council of the city of Winchester to borrow a sum of money not in excess of $10,000.00, and to issue bonds of the town therefor; and to advance the proceeds in aid of the establishment of the Shenandoah National Park; and to provide for the payment of the interest on said bonds and the principal thereof at maturity.
An Act authorizing the county school board of Princess Anne county to borrow money, not in excess of $60,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, for the construction and equipment of a high school building at Oceana in Lynnhaven school district and to pay for the site; and requiring the board of supervisors of said county annually to levy a tax to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1 of an act entitled an act imposing public duties on heat, light, power, water and telephone companies, and providing for the control and regulation of such companies by the State Corporation Commission
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 12, 20, 30, 31, 32, 35, 39, 40, 41, 55, 61, 65, 67, 69 and 75 of the Virginia workmen’s compensation act.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Amherst to borrow money not in excess of $20,000.00, and to issue its time warrants therefor, for the purpose of refunding certain road bonds of the said county which mature on January 1, 1927.
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Gretna in the county of Pittsylvania to borrow money, not in excess of $70,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, for the purpose of acquiring the necessary property and constructing a water system or sewerage system or both, and for extending water mains and improving its streets; and to provide for the payment of the interest on said bonds, and the redemption of the principal thereof.

An ACT to authorize the special board of directors of the Eastern State Hospital to convey to the city of Williamsburg, for cemetery purposes, not exceeding two acres of the lands of such hospital.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4 of an act approved March 3, 1898, entitled an act to prescribe the mode in which clerks of courts shall keep a record of all taxes and other public moneys collected by them, and to require them to pay the same into the treasury, as heretofore amended, and to reped section 3 of the said act.

AN ACT to amend and re-enact section 541 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by an act approved March 22, 1920, and sections 545, 546-a, 3991 and 4435 of the Code of Virginia, section 546-a of which was added to the said Code by an act approved March 22, 1920, all of which sections relate to fires and fire protection.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2775 of the Code of Virginia requiring treasurers of counties and auditors of cities to file with the auditor of public accounts detailed statement of annual receipts and disbursements so as to hereafter require such reports to be made to the State accountant, and impose a fine for failure to make such reports, and to require the State accountant to prepare and cause to be published annually a statement showing in detail the comparative cost of local government as among counties and cities of the State and the per capita cost thereof; and to repeal an act approved February 15, 1924, entitled an act to require the State accountant to prepare and cause to be published annually a statement showing in detail the comparative cost of local government as among counties and cities of the State and the per capita cost thereof.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act authorizing the county school board of Amherst county to borrow money, not in excess of $20,000.00 and to issue its time warrants therefor, for county school purposes in that county, approved March 20, 1924 so as to authorize the county school board of Amherst county to borrow thirty thousand dollars under said act.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Botetourt county to construct, as hard surface roads, the uncompleted part of the Fincastle-Springwood road within the Buchanan magisterial district, and the road from Springwood to Buchanan, on the north or east side of James river, both in said county; and also to authorize said board to issue and sell warrants on the county treasurer to provide for all the costs thereof, and to make provisions for the payment of the interest on said warrants and the retirement of the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to improve a license tax on pistols and revolvers; to regulate the sale thereof and of ammunition therefor; and to provide that the proceeds of such tax shall be used for the establishment of a diseased and crippled children’s hospital.
An ACT to authorize, empower and direct the board of supervisors of the county of Princess Anne to borrow money by the issue of bonds for the purpose of purchasing, building and improving roads and bridges in Pungo magisterial district in said county.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 57 of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the town of Covington, in the county of Alleghany, and to repeal all other acts with reference thereto, as approved April 2, 1902, and amended, Acts 1910, 1916 and 1922; and to provide for the appointment by the town council of a police justice for the town of Covington, Virginia, and to define his powers and duties.
An ACT to authorize the city of Williamsburg to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $25,000.00, and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of refunding certain water and sewer system and public school bonds which were issued but not sold, and to pay off the floating indebtedness of the said city.
An Act to authorize the council of the town of South Boston to issue bonds of the town of South Boston in an amount not exceeding fifty thousand ($50,000.00) dollars, and to provide for the levy of a tax to pay interest on said bonds and to retire the same as they mature.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1 of an act entitled an act to provide for the issuing of county bonds for permanent road or bridge improvement in the magisterial districts of the county of Princess Anne
