An ACT to provide for the erection of a monument to commemorate the distinguished service of the Major General Fitzhugh Lee to the United States, the Confederate States, the Republic of Cuba and the State of Virginia.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 75 of chapter 400 of the acts of the general assembly of 1918, page 637, commonly known as the workmen's compensation act, as last amended by chapter 7, of the acts of the general assembly of 1926, page 7, and to appropriate funds for the carrying into effect the performance of the duties required of the industrial commission under this act.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3271 of the Code of Virginia, relating to abandoned oyster planting grounds.
An ACT to authorize the boards of supervisors of the counties of Wythe, Grayson, Carroll and Pulaski to appropriate certain sums of money for the expenses of the judge of the twenty-first judicial circuit.
An ACT to validate an ordinance of the city of Hopewell adopted by the city council of the city of Hopewell on the 29th day of August, 1927, authorizing the issue of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) worth of bonds, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of which is to be used to construct a jail and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of which is to be used to institute and maintain sewerage and culverts and other public improvements in the city of Hopewell, and to validate an election held on the 8th day of November, 1927, submitting to the qualified voters of the city of Hopewell the right to pass on the issuing of said bonds, pursuant to chapter 122, of the Code of Virginia; and authorizing the city of Hopewell to issue fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) worth of bonds, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) as jail bonds and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) as sewerage and other public improvement bonds.
An ACT to confer upon the city of Hopewell the power of supervision of subdivisions of tracts of land in said city, or within three miles of the corporate limits of same; descriptions of lots in such subdivisions and copies of such plats as evidence.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 9 of chapter 112 of the acts of assembly of 1924, page 132, the same being amendatory of an act entitled an act to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Carroll to let to contract the public roads of said county, and levy a tax to keep the same in order, approved February 29, 1892.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 7 of an act entitled an act to provide for the issuance of county bonds for constructing and operating water supply systems in the magisterial districts of certain counties of the State; to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity, and to provide for the construction and operation of such water supply systems
An ACT for the relief of the estate of Timothy Rives; and to authorize the payment from the treasury to his executors and executrix, the sum of $2,020.00, for services rendered during the last four years of his term of office as Commonwealth’s attorney of Prince George county.
An ACT to provide for levying and collecting a special school tax in Wythe and Chesapeake magisterial districts in the county of Elizabeth City, after the same shall have been authorized by the people, by an election to be held for the purpose and to prescribe how the funds raised by such tax shall be used and expended.
An ACT to provide a new charter for the city of Lynchburg, Virginia.
An ACT for the relief of Mrs. T. FE. Allen and Miss Clara Allen.
An ACT to provide for transferring to the State corporation commission, the powers and duties now conferred and imposed by law upon the commissioner of insurance, concerning guaranty, indemnity, fidelity and security companies; for issuing permits to such companies to do business in Virginia; for establishing and regulating rates to be charged by such companies on the various classes and kinds of bonds, obligations and undertakings to be given or guaranteed by them; for the revocation of permits; and for penalties to be imposed for violations of any of such provisions.
An ACT to provide for the making of a correct list of rented oyster planting grounds, and record thereof.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3 of an act to create the city of Hopewell, in the county of Prince George; to provide temporary and permanent officers for its organization and management and to authorize the assessment and collection of revenue necessary for the permanent improvement and government of said city, approved February 26, 1916, as amended by an act approved March 20, 1920, as amended by an act approved March 20 1922.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 12 of an act entitled an act to provide for working, building and keeping in repair the public roads and bridges in Grayson county, approved March 6, 1900, as last amended by chapter 229 of the acts of the general assembly of 1924, page 345.
An ACT to authorize and empower the State board of health to convey to the county school board of Roanoke county, a lot of land in Catawba valley, in the county of Roanoke, owned by the Commonwealth of Virginia, and to make use of the money received therefor; and, to authorize and empower the county school board of Roanoke county to sell a school building to the State board of health, and to make use of the money received therefor.
An ACT to provide for the destruction of papers and records in the office of the director of the division of motor vehicles which are unnecessary, or, which it is unnecessary to preserve for over a limited period.
An ACT to authorize the city school board of the city of South Norfolk to borrow money not in excess of $150,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, to be used for the construction of a high school for white children in the city of South Norfolk, and to require the council of said city, annually to levy taxes to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize payment of bill for lighting equipment installed in the hall of the house of delegates and the senate chamber, in the capitol building.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Scott county to issue bonds of Scott county to refund outstanding bonds of said county issued on behalf of Estillville magisterial district, and to authorize the levy of a tax for the payment of the principal and interest of said bonds, and to validate said outstanding bonds.
An ACT to authorize the board of the Virginia teachers colleges to sell and convey a tract of land belonging to the State teachers college, at Fredericksburg, and to acquire by purchase for said college certain lots from the proceeds of sale.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to prohibit the use of troll (or trawl) nets in the waters of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and providing a penalty for same
An ACT to provide for appeals from the action of the commission of fisheries in leasing or refusing to lease oyster planting grounds in the Chesapeake bay.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to apply the unexpended proceeds from the sale of bonds for bridge purposes in said city issued under Acts of Assembly, 1920, chapter 125, to the payment to Elizabeth City county on public school bonds and on a public school in territory annexed to the city of Newport News.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6 of chapter 392 of the acts of assembly of 1924, known as the centralized purchasing law, as amended.
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Broadway, in Rockingham county, to appropriate funds in aid of the erection of a school building in said town by the county school board of said county.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1987 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the levy of a district road tax, the limit thereof, its collection and expenditures, and providing for an increase thereof in Mathews county.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Norfolk to borrow money by the issuance of bonds in a sum no to exceed one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the purpose of building and improving roads and bridges in the said county, and to sell the said bonds and to provide for their payment, and to authorize the commission of roads and bridges to expend the said funds when appropriated to it by the said board of supervisors.
An ACT to authorize the town of Ashland, Virginia, to issue bonds
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Boydton, in the county of Mecklenburg, to borrow a sum of money, not in excess of $40,000.00, and to issue bonds of said town therefor, for the purpose of acquiring property, if necessary, and constructing a water system or sewerage system, or both; and to provide for the payment of the interest on said bonds, and the redemption of the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT providing the form and mode of procedure, and furnishing a system of procedure for the condemnation of lands and buildings and other improvements thereon, or of any estate or interest therein, for use as a public park or for public park purposes
An ACT to declare certain specified grounds in Mobjack bay in Gloucester county a part of the natural oyster rocks, beds and shoals, subject to any existing rights of any lessees of said ground.
An ACT to revise, collate and codify into one act the general statutes of the Commonwealth relating to banks and banking, which act shall constitute and be designated and cited as the Virginia banking act. and to repeal all Code sections and all acts and parts of acts inconsistent therewith. and to provide penalties for the violations thereof.

An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Dickenson county to levy additional taxes for the benefit of the public schools in said county, the several magisterial districts and incorporated towns therein, and authorizing the school board to borrow money for saicd* purpose.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Fluvanna county to levy an additional capitation tax, which shall be applied in aid of the public schools of the said county, or for such other county purposes as the said board shall determine.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2958 of the Code of Virginia, in relation to the extension or contraction of corporate limits of cities and towns.
An ACT to amend sections 3, 4 and 14 of an act entitled an act to create a State commission on conservation and development; to prescribe its powers and duties; to vest it with powers and duties now vested by law in the water power and development commission, the State geological commission, the State geological survey, the office of the State geologist, and the office of the State forester; and to vest it with power to condemn and acquire land and other property for public park purposes, approved March 17, 1926, and providing for the conservation of property acquired under the provisions of section 14, with the aid of voluntary gifts or contributions placed at the disposal of the commission.
An ACT to provide a county road board for the county of Princess Anne; to define its jurisdiction, duties and liabilities; to provide for compensation to its members and employees; and to repeal chapter 49 of the acts of assembly of 1923, and chapters 196, 238 and 346 of the acts of assembly of 1926, and to abolish all boards, offices and commissions created thereby, all of which relate to road boards and commissions in said county.
An ACT to authorize the governing boards of the University of Virginia, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, the Virginia Normal and Industrial Institute and the State teachers colleges at Farmville and Harrisonburg to issue and sell, through the commissioners of the sinking fund, certificates of indebtedness in the name and on behalf of their institutions, respectively, to raise funds for dormitory construction purposes and for the construction of a power and heating plant at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this act; to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to repeal an act to require non-residents hunting in this State to pay the same fee required of citizens of this State by other States, when in excess of the Virginia fee, approved March 14, 1924, and to repeal sections 3209, 3328, 3329, 3330, 3331, 3332, 3333, 3334, 3335, 3337, and 3339 and to amend and re-enact section 3327 of the Code of Virginia relating to hunting, trapping and fishing license provisions and providing penalties for violations.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act to prohibit the hunting, killing, chasing, snaring, or trapping, tracking in the snow, or chasing with dogs, any elk in the counties of Bland, Craig, Giles, Montgomery, or Pulaski: limiting the number to be killed during the open season, naming the open season, providing for non-resident license and the penalties for violation
An ACT for the relief of Hermitage Park Corporation.
An ACT to amend and re-enact chapter 208 of the acts of 1926, entitled an act to authorize, empower and direct the board of supervisors of the county of Princess Anne to borrow money by the issuance of bonds in the aggregate sum of one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) for the purpose of purchasing, building and improving roads and bridges in Seaboard magisterial district in said county; to sell the said bonds; to provide for the payment of interest thereon and principal thereof and to authorize the commission of roads and bridges of Princess Anne county for Seaboard magisterial district, to dispense the funds so obtained, approved March 18, 1926, by adding thereto two new sections to be numbered sections 8a and 8b, providing for the expenditure of the surplus of the funds raised under this act.
An ACT fixing the annual compensation of the board of supervisors
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Grayson county to borrow the sum of $39,000.00, and to issue bonds therefor for the repair, improvement and construction of certain roads and bridges in Elk Creek and Providence magisterial districts of said county; to provide for the expenditure of the funds raised by such bond issues; to employ a competent road engineer, whose selection shall be approved by the chairman of the State highway commission, to make plans and specifications of all roads and bridges thereon, to be built or permanently improved from the proceeds of such bond issues, and to supervise the building of same; to employ and pay for the labor for construction of the roads mentioned; to specify the roads and parts thereof to be constructed, and the amounts to be expended thereon; to provide for imposing a tax on all property, county and district, including property in any incorporated town situated within the above-named districts, for the purpose of paying the interest and principal of such debt; to do all things necessary, needful or incidental to the main purpose of this act; and to declare an emergency.
An ACT to authorize the councils of the cities to provide for the cutting of weeds and other foreign growth on vacant property.
A JOINT RESOLUTION proposing amendment to the Constitution of Virginia.
An ACT to provide for a commission to consider the question of the advisability of adopting compulsory compensation insurance in this State with reference to the operation of motor vehicles therein; to prescribe the powers and duties of such commission; to authorize the employment of ex-perts to assist the commission, and to appropriate the sum of $1,500.00 to defray the expenses of the commission, and to pay for the services of its employees.
An ACT to provide for the appointment of a commission to study and report to the next session of the general assembly the advisability of establishing a liberal arts college for women at one of the State teachers colleges, or elsewhere; to provide for the expenses of the commission and the employment of the necessary technical and clerical assistants; and to appropriate the money necessary to defray the expenses of the commission.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1 of chapter .301 of the acts of 1918, entitled an act to regulate the treatment, handling and work of prisoners sentenced to the State penitentiary, and to appropriate funds therefor
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow a sum of money not exceeding forty-five thousand dollars and to issue bonds therefor to be used for the establishment of a public library and reading room in the said city.
An ACT to prescribe the form and require the use of a standard fire insurance policy in the State of Virginia.
An ACT to amend the charter of the city of Charlottesville, approved March 24, 1922, by adding thereto four sections, to be numbered 21%, 1314, 1814 and 4014, and by amending and re-enacting sections 4, 9, 17, 18.
An ACT to repeal chapter 252 of the acts of assembly of 1884, entitled ‘an act to provide for working of roads in the counties of Chesterfield, Powhatan and Goochland,” and all acts amendatory thereof, in so far as the same applies to the county of Powhatan, the same not to become effec- tive until approved by the people in an election to be held for the purpose.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Carroll to borrow money, not in excess of $75,000.00, and to issue bonds of the county therefor, for the purpose of surveying, constructing, repairing and improving certain roads and bridges, for Piper's Gap magisterial district of said county, and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT authorizing certain counties and cities in this State to establish a mosquito control district or districts; to provide for a governing body or commission, their appointment and duties; to provide for the creation, operation and management of such district. or districts, and to provide for the issuance of bonds and a sinking fund and for financing the same, to authorize the levy of a tax and appropriating funds.
An ACT to provide a legislative committee to consider and investigate all matters relating to the apportionment of that portion of the motor vehicle fuel tax appropriated for the maintenance of the roads and bridges in the several county highway systems, and for the construction and reconstruction of roads and bridges in such systems, and to prescribe the powers and duties of said committee.

An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to prevent damage and injuries by dogs, and to provide compensation to owners of stock so injured; to provide for license on dogs and to provide for penalties for violations thereof; to provide compensation to owners of fowl so injured, and to provide funds for the enforcement of this act therefrom
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4332 of the Code of Virginia, relating to assessment for mutual assessment, co-operative, fire, lightning and storm insurance companies.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 12, 23 and 32 of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of South Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, approved Septemter 11, 1919, as heretofore amended, which town has since become the city of South Norfolk, and to provide a charter for the city of South Norfolk.
An ACT to amend and re-enact article 3 of section 3, and section 6, and article 8 of section 8, and articles 1, 2, 5, 9, 10 and 13 of section 9 and article 11 of section 10 and article 13 of section 11 of an act entitled an act to extend the limits of, and provide for electing trustees for, the town sof Marion, in the county of Smyth, and vesting them with certain corporate powers, approved March 24, 1920.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4 of chapter 412 of the acts of the general assembly of 1922, entitled an act to provide a new charter for the town of Woodstock and to repeal all acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith, and to declare all contracts and obligations heretofore or hereafter made by the present council and government of the town of Woodstock and all power heretofore or hereafter exercised by them, while in office, to be legal and valid, approved March 24, 1922, relating to the public schools of said town, as amended.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow a sum not exceeding forty thousand dollars and issue bonds therefor to be used for the purchase of municipal equipment for said city.
An ACT to authorize and require certain district school taxes to be levied in the county of York, and to provide for the collection and expenditure of the funds derived from such levies.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3510 of the Code of Virginia, as last amended by chapter 354 of the acts of the general assembly ct 1920, page 529, relating to pay of jailers for feeding prisoners, and to provide that no such payments be made until approved by the commissioner of public welfare; and to provide that the commissioner of public welfare may transfer prisoners from a jail to a hospital, clinic, State, city or county farm, road camp, et cetera.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of chapter 93 of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia entitled an act to provide for the retirement of registered certificates of the State issued to schools, colleges and other organizations, by authorizing and directing the issuance and sale of two million, four hundred and sixty-eight thousand, six hundred and five dollars and eighty-five cents ($2,468,605.85) of bonds of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and the principal thereof at maturity
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Elizabeth City to borrow the sum of thirty thousand ($350,000.00) dollars, and to issue the bonds of said county therefor, for the purpose of paying the expenses incurred by the county in making additions to the county jail and installing new cells therein; making additions to the record vault of the clerk's office and installing new fixtures therein; adding one jury room to the courthouse for the use of petit and grand jurors, and for installing a central heating plant in the addition to the jail for the purpose of heating said jail and courthouse of said county, and to authorize and require the said board of supervisors to levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in said county, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund to retire the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act entitled an act to create a State highway commission; to provide for a chairman thereof; and to prescribe the powers, duties and the compensation of the commission and chairman; and to provide for a State highway commissioner; to create road construction districts; to provide for the apportionment among them of road construction funds, and to provide for road construction, improvement, maintenance and preservation, also to repeal sections 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1974 and 1975 of the Code of Virginia, and to repeal an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to establish a State highway commission; to define its powers and duties; the term of office, salary and qualifications of the commissioner; to authorize the commission to call into consultation the professors of engineering in certain State institutions, and appropriating money to carry the provisions of this act into effect, approved March 6, 1900; to provide for the appointment of a commission, and fixing their term of office; and to repeal all other sections of the Code and acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act, approved March 24, 1922, section 5 of which was heretofore amended and re-enacted by an act approved March 21, 1924, and further amended and re-enacted by an act approved March 17, 1926.
An ACT to amend and re-enact chapter 23 of the acts of assembly, 1922, entitled an act to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Cumberland county to levy a special district road tax for Hamilton district in Cumberland county, Virginia, and to pay out of the same certain debts due to contractors for work done on roads in said district
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4235 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by chapter 514 of the acts of assembly of 1922, page 894, as to filing list of agents of insurance companies.
An ACT to authorize the boards of supervisors of the counties of Gloucester and Mathews to appropriate funds for the purpose of contributing toward placing markers upon the graves of Confederate soldiers buried in such counties.
to validate, ratify and confirm the issue of bonds made in pursuance of an act to authorize the city of Williamsburg to borrow a sum of money not exceeding twenty-five thousand ($25,000.00) dollars, and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of refunding certain water and sewer system and public school bonds, which were issued, but not sold, and to pay off the floating indebtedness of the said city
An ACT to create “the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Norfolk county bridge authority,” and to define the powers and duties of such authority.
An ACT to amend sections 1257, 1258, 1259, 1260, 1261, 1262, 1263, 1264 and 1265, relating to licensing, bonding, and regulating commission merchants, and punishment for violations.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Princess Anne to levy certain district school taxes, and to provide for the collection and expenditure of the funds derived from such levies.
An ACT to appropriate $50,000.00 annually, payable out of the State highway maintenance and construction fund, to enable the director of motor vehicles to employ twenty additional inspectors to aid in the enforcement of the laws relating to motor vehicles.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4366 of the Code of Virginia, 1919, in relation to the exercise of the power of eminent domain and concerning the pay of commissioners.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow a sum not exceeding forty thousand dollars and issue bonds therefor, to be used for the purchase of municipal equipment for said city.
An ACT authorizing the boards of supervisors of the counties of Appomattox, Buckingham, Charlotte, Cumberland and Prince Edward to make appropriations for the expenses of the judge of the fifth judicial circuit.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act providing
An ACT to amend and re-enact section twenty of chapter one hundred and sixty-one of the acts of nineteen hundred and eighteen, as amended by chapter one hundred and thirty-seven of the acts of nineteen hundred and twenty-three, relating to the charter of the town of Pocahontas, Virgimia.
An ACT to authorize the town council of the town of Appalachia, in Wise county, to issue and sell bonds of said town to an amount not exceeding thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) for the purpose of funding and refunding existing indebtedness of said town and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act of the general assembly approved April 11, 1927, entitled an act to provide for the relief of volunteer firemen killed or injured while engaged in fighting fires or in going to or returning therefrom in Arlington county and the city of Alexandria.
An ACT to create Arlington sanitary district, which shall include the entire county of Arlington; to create the “Arlington board of public works,” to define the powers and duties of said board; to invest said board with the power of eminent domain; to provide for the division of said sanitary district into zones, or sections; to provide for the purchase, construction, maintenance, operation and control of drainage and sewerage systems and sewerage disposal plants or works: for the construction of sidewalks: for the issuance of bonds to raise funds for such purposes; for the assessment of abutting property owners with certain amounts to be used in the construction and use of sewers and sidewalks; for the fixing and regulation of service and other charges for the connection with and use of sewers; for the pay of members, officers and employees; to prescribe penalties for violations: and to repeal chapter 260 of the acts of assembly of 1922, page 445, and chapter 463 of the acts of assembly of 1926, page 754, chapter 315 of the acts of assembly of 1926, page 531, and chapter 294 of the acts of assembly of 1926, page 510, in so far as it is applicable to the county of Arlington, and to repeal all other acts and parts of acts in conflict with any of the provisions of this act.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2726 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, which said section is in chapter 109 of the said Code on the subject of boards cof supervisors.
An ACT to revise, consolidate, amend and codify the school laws of Virginia and certain laws relating to the State board of education, its powers and duties; to repeal certain Code sections and substitute in their place such revised, consolidated and amended Code sections and acts of the general assembly passed since the year 1916, as relate or pertain to the public schools; to number such revised, consolidated and amended statutes as sections 611 to section 718 of the Code of Virginia, both inclusive, all of which said sections relate or pertain to the State board of education, its powers and duties, the superintendent of public instruction, division superintendents, the school system in Virginia; the laws relative to the public school system in the counties in all its phases and relating to every matter that may affect, or in any manner pertain to the public schools in the counties, including the abolition of all school boards and the transfer of their powers and duties after January 1, 1932, to the several boards of supervisors; to provide for the levying, collecting and expenditure of school taxes or appropriations made in lieu thereof; to abolish school districts for all purposes save for purposes of representation for capital expenditures, and the payment of present existing debts; to make all the provisions of such sections applicable to city schools, so far as possible; to repeal sections 586, 594 and 595 of the Code of Virginia and sections 611 to 773 of the Code of Virginia, both inclusive, and any and all acts amendatory of such sections, all of which Code sections relate to the public schools, or matters pertaining thereto; to repeal chapter 412 of the acts of 1918 and chapter 381 of the acts of 1922, both of which relate to the compulsory attendance of children between certain ages upon the public schools of Virginia; to repeal chapter 233 of the acts of 1918 and chapter 327 of the acts of 1920, both of which relate to public health nursing and medical and health inspection of school children; to repeal chapter 32 of the acts of 1918, relating to the exemption of school and college pupils, and the vehicles in which they are traveling, from the payment of tolls on any roads located in this State; to repeal chapter 295 of the acts of 1918, permitting the teaching of high school subjects in primary schools in certain cases; to repeal chapter 371 of the acts of 1918, providing for deposit and disbursement of donations for public free school purposes; to repeal chapter 352 of the acts of 1918, authorizing district or city school boards to borrow money on short time loans; to repeal chapter 398 of the acts of 1920, relating to local school taxes, except so much thereof as repeals sections 740 and 2721 of the Code of 1919, and all amendments to such act which are found in chapter 29 of the acts of 1923 and chapter 175 of the acts of 1924; to repeal chapter 106 of the acts of 1924, amending chapter 398 of the acts of 1920, by adding thereto section la, relating to local school taxes in Lee county; to repeal chapter 143 of the acts of 1922, relating to contracts for textbooks adopted for use in the public schools of the State; to repeal chapter 423 of the acts of 1922, creating county school boards, providing for their powers and duties, abolishing district boards, etc.; to repeal chapter 148 of the acts of 1922, providing for the establishment of recreation centers and for the teaching of home-crafts; to repeal chapter 46 of the acts of 1926, relating to the borrowing of money by school boards, authorizing short time loans, prohibiting certain other loans and prohibiting school boards from expending or contracting to expend, in any fiscal year, any sum of money in excess of the funds available for that year, unless approved by the boards of supervisors or the councils, etc.; to repeal chapter 493 of the acts of 1926, relating to school taxes; to repeal chapter 529 of the acts of 1926, prohibiting the State board of education from refusing to accredit any school, or any diploma or certificate issued by such school, for the sole reason that such school is not being conducted in a building meeting the requirements of said board; to repeal chapter 564 of the acts of 1926, relating to contracts for textbooks adopted for use in the public schools of the Commonwealth; to repeal chapter 62 of the acts of 1926, amending chapter 398 of the acts of 1920, in relation to local school levies, and relating especially to school taxes in Lee county; to repeal chapter 189 of the acts of 1926, authorizing the issuance of bonds by county school boards for the purpose of refunding school bonds issued on behalf of the school districts; to repeal sections 1529 and 1530 of the Code of Virginia; to repeal sections 798 and 849 of the Code of Virginia, and to repeal all Code sections, acts and parts of acts, which are, or may be, in conflict with the provisions of the statutes embraced in the contents of this bill.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 17 of the act of the general assembly of Virginia, approved March 12, 1904, entitled an act to incorporate and provide a charter for the town of Damascus, Virginia.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow eighty thousand dollars and to issue bonds therefor to be used by said city in making public improvements in territory annexed to the city of Newport News, under provisions of section 2958 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by act of assembly of Virginia, 1924, chapter 441.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1747 of the Code of Virginia, relating to drainage districts, so as to provide a simple and more expeditious method of condemning rights-of-way, outlets, dams, or other obstacles in connection with the establishment and maintenance of drainage districts.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section thirteen of the charter of the town of Bedford, as heretofore amended.
