An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 2. 17, 22, 23. 28. 32, 33, 34, 39, 43, 44, 46, 53, 58, 62, 63, 75, 84, 94, 95, 96, 97, 99, 100, 105, 106, 107, 111, 112, 121 and 122 of chapter 342 of the Acts of Assembly for 1932 entitled an act to revise, simplify, rearrange and consolidate into one act which shall constitute and be designated and cited as “The Motor Vehicle Code of Virginia,” the various statutes of the Commonwealth concerning the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, the licensing of chauffeurs, the collection of fees and disposition of funds collected, the operation of vehicles on the public roads, highways, streets and alleys, the Division of Motor Vehicles and the director of said division, the powers and duties of said division and director, and the penalties for violations of the provisions of certain such statutes; and to repeal all statutes and acts in conflict with the provisions of this act, approved March 26, 1932.
An ACT to declare the courthouse square, on which is located the courthouse, clerk’s office, jail and other public buildings of Appomattox county, Virginia, a part of each of the several magisterial districts of the county of Appomattox, and to declare the courthouse square, on which is located the courthouse, clerk’s office, jail and other public buildings of Halifax county, Virginia, a part of each of the several magisterial districts of the county of Halifax.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 378 of the Code of Virginia, 1930, concerning the office of the Attorney General.
An ACT to provide for the recordation of discharge certificates of veterans of wars in which the United States has engaged.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4 of an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Colonial Beach, in the county of Westmoreland, approved February 25, 1892, as heretofore amended, relating to the officers of said town.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2723 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the sale, exchange and control of county property by supervisors.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 198 of the Tax Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to slot machines.
An ACT to legalize, regulate and control the manufacture, bottling, sale, distribution, transportation, handling, advertising, possession, dispensing, drinking and use of alcohol, brandy, rum, whiskey, gin, wine, beer, lager beer, ale, porter, stout, and all liquids, beverages and articles containing alcohol obtained by distillation, fermentation or otherwise; to create a Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control and a Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board and to define and provide for the functions, duties and powers thereof; to provide for the appointment, suspension, removal, compensation, costs, and expenses of such Board and its members, officers, agents and employees; to provide for licensing and taxing manufacturers, bottlers, wholesalers and retailers of alcohol, brandy, rum, whiskey, gin, wine, beer, lager beer, ale, porter, stout, and all liquids, beverages and articles containing alcohol, by the State and the counties, cities, and towns thereof; to impose excise taxes on such liquids, beverages and articles; to appropriate money for the administration of the act and to provide for the disposition of revenues collected under the act; to provide for the confiscation and disposition of articles declared contraband hereunder; to authorize the dismissal and termination of pending warrants, indictments, charges and prosecutions involving violations of laws, ordinances and by-laws pertaining to liquids, beverages and articles containing alcohol, to authorize the restoration of certain property seized in connection therewith, and to authorize the suspension of sentences imposed for violations of such laws, ordinances and by-laws; to make provision whereby the penalties for the violation of acts repealed by this act may be the same as those provided in this act; to impose penalties for violations of the act; to repeal all acts and parts of acts in conflict herewith, and to provide that this act shall constitute and be designated and cited as “The Alcoholic Beverage Control Act.”
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 71 of an act entitled an act to revise, collate and codify into one act the general statutes of the Commonwealth relating to banks and banking, which act shall constitute and be designated and cited as the Virginia Banking Act, and to repeal all Code sections and all acts and parts of acts inconsistent therewith, and to provide penalties for the violations thereof, approved March 27, 1928, as heretofore amended, relating to trust companies.
An ACT providing for the establishment of fire zones or districts
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 344 of the Tax Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to boards of equalization of real estate assessments.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3433 of the Code of Virginia of 1930, concerning the salary and mileage of the Attorney General, his assistants, secretaries and stenographers and contingent expenses of his office.
An ACT to define the term "machine gun"; to declare the use and possession of a machine gun, for certain purposes, a crime and to prescribe the punishment therefor; to require manufacturers, dealers and other persons, with certain exemptions, in possession thereof, to register all machine guns with the Secretary of the Commonwealth: to keep records of and report transfers and sales to the said Secretary; to allow inspection of records and of machine guns by peace officers; to provide for seizures and search warrants; to prescribe rules of evidence and presumptions; to provide penalties, and to repeal all inconsistent acts.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act entitled “An act to provide for the registration of voters in cities having a population of fifty thousand or more; and to repeal an act entitled an act to provide for the registration of voters in cities having a population of one hundred thousand or more, approved March 20, 1920,” approved March 2, 1922, as heretofore amended.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia, by adding thereto a new section numbered 322, providing for the appointment, duties and expenses of Commissioners for the Promotion of Uniformity of Legislation in the United States.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 39 of an act entitled “an act to amend and re-enact an act appointing trustees for the town of Christiansburg, in the county of Montgomery, and for other purposes, giving said town a charter, approved January 7, 1833,” approved March 16, 1916, said sections relating to the election, qualification and terms of, and vacancies in, certain municipal officers, so as to provide for the election of the town sergeant.
An ACT to authorize the Town Council of the Town of Orange, to issue bonds in the sum of $50,000, to be used in refunding certain water bonds and water improvement bonds heretofore issued, and providing for the assessment and collection of certain taxes for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 4, 7, 9, 13, 15, 19, 20, 20-a and 21 of an act entitled "an act to provide for a State Boxing and Wrestling Commission, to prescribe its powers and duties, and to provide for the expense of administering this act; to authorize and empower counties, cities and towns to determine by ordinance, referendum, or otherwise, when boxing and wrestling contests may be held therein; to provide for boxing and wrestling contests for prizes or purses, or where an admission is charged, and limiting such boxing contests to fifteen rounds and wrestling matches by such rules as may be promulgated by the commission; to prescribe conditions under which licenses shall be issued and contests held; to declare that amateur boxing and wrestling contests conducted heretofore shall be subject to the provisions of this measure and under the sole jurisdiction of such commission in all cases wherein an admission fee is charged spectators to witness such amateur boxing and/or wrestling contests; to provide for licensing and taxing such boxing and wrestling matches and providing for the distribution of the moneys derived therefrom," approved March 29, 1934, said sections being in relation to licenses, permits, compensation of officers, referees, number of bouts of matches, and appropriation of money collected.
An ACT to revise, rearrange and consolidate into one act certain acts relating to the Attorney General; to provide for his assistants, clerks, stenographers and employees and for their compensation; to prescribe the authority and duties of the Attorney General and to provide for commerce counsel for the State Corporation Commission; and to repeal certain sections of the Code and acts relating to the Attorney General and his office, and to designate this act as Section 374-A of the Code of Virginia.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 4 (37), 7, 42 (d), 50 (e) and 55 of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Bristol, and to repeal all acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith, approved March 19, 1920, as heretofore amended.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 291 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to disabilities to hold office and exceptions thereto.

An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 4970 of the Code of Virginia relating to special prosecuting attorneys.
An ACT to impose an annual State license tax on certain police pension fund associations, police benevolent associations, and firemen’s mutual aid associations, which license tax shall be in lieu of all State taxes on the intangible personal property of such association.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 247, as heretofore amended, and section 267 of the Code of Virginia, relating to how primary elections, and elections of county, corporation and district officers contested, respectively, so as to provide for the taxing of costs in such contests.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 20 of an act entitled “an act to provide a new charter for the city of Richmond,” approved March 24, 1926, as heretofore amended
An ACT to authorize, under certain conditions and under the direc-tion and control of certain courts, assignments by certain persons of salary, wages and income to trustees for the benefit of creditors; defining the power and duties of such trustees and fixing their compensation; and prescribing the effect of such assignments as to creditors of the parties so assigning.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 4190 of the Code of Virginia relating to when the State Corporation Commission may remedy inflammable conditions.
An ACT to authorize and empower the electoral board of each county adjoining a city having a population of at least 180,000 inhabitants, as shown by the last preceding United States census, to appoint a general registrar for such county; to provide for the rights, powers, duties and compensation of such general registrar; to provide the effect of such appointments; and to provide how the office of general registrar may be abolished.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 5, 14, 27 and 33, as heretofore amended, of an act entitled “An act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of South Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, approved September 11, 1919, as heretofore amended, which town has since become the city of South Norfolk; and to provide a charter for the city of South Norfolk,’ approved March 20, 1924, Section 5 relating to the election of councilmen and other city officers, Section 14 to the trial justice of the city and his jurisdiction, Section 27 to borrowing money, and Section 33 to appeals from the trial justice: and to further amend said act by adding thereto a new section numbered 42-a, relating to time for bringing action against city for damages; and to repeal Section 1l-a thereof.
An ACT to authorize and empower peace officers of other State of the United States to follow in close pursuit and arrest in Virginia persons fleeing into Virginia, and to provide for the disposition of such persons after such arrest.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled “An act to amend and re-enact the charter of the town of Culpeper,” approved January 11, 1898, as heretofore amended.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered 2769, fixing the compensation and mileage of members of boards of supervisors of counties, and to repeal Section 2769-a of the Code of Virginia relating to similar matters.
An ACT to provide that persons, firms, corporations or associations which collect dues or assessments and provide burial benefits in return therefor shall be known as burial societies; to provide for the organization, licensing and regulation of such societies; and to provide penalties.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3l-a as amended, and section 46 of an act entitled 'an act to provide a new charter for the city of Roanoke and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amendatory thereof, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the city of Roanoke,' approved March 22, 1924, section 3l-a being in relation to the bail commissioners, and section 46 in relation to the sinking fund commission, and to declare an emergency.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 269 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the form of general oath to be taken and subscribed by every person before entering upon the discharge of any function as an officer of this State.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered 2772-a relating to the compensation of clerks of boards of supervisors; and to repeal section 2773 of the Code of Virginia.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1, article 3 of an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Phoebus in Elizabeth City county, approved January 22, 1900, as heretofore amended.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3 of an act entitled “An act authorizing the State Commission on Conservation and Development to acquire by the exercise of the right of eminent domain in condemnation proceedings or by gift, devise, purchase or any other lawful means for the transfer of title, the lands described therein, for public parks or for public park purposes,” approved March 23, 1932, as heretofore amended, so as to authorize the State Commission on Conservation and Development under certain conditions to transfer said lands or a part thereof to the United States of America.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 2, 16, 19, 21, 22 and 28 of an act entitled an act to provide a charter and special form of government for the city of Hampton, and to repeal the existing charter for said city, formerly the town of Hampton, approved May 23, 1887, and the several acts amendatory thereof, approved, respectively, February 29, 1892; February 24, 1896; March 3, 1898; January 13, 1900; January 30, 1900; February 23, 1901; the two acts of May 15, 1903; March 2, 1914; March 9, 1916, and the act of December 26, 1903, which became a law without the Governor’s signature; and all other acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the city of Hampton, approved March 16, 1920, as heretofore amended; to repeal section 23 of the said act; and to provide for the effect of said repeal; and to prescribe the conditions upon which the said amendments and the said repeal shall become effective.

An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 8 of an act entitled "an act to create a State Highway Commission; to provide for a chairman thereof; and to prescribe the powers, duties and the compensation of the commission and chairman; and to provide for a State Highway Commissioner; to create road construction districts; to provide for the apportionment among them of road construction funds, and to provide for road construction, improvement, maintenance and preservation, also to repeal Sections 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1974 and 1975 of the Code of Virginia, and to repeal an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to establish a State Highway Commission; to define its powers and duties; the term of office, salary and qualifications of the commissioner; to authorize the commission to call into consultation the professors of engineering in certain State institutions, and appropriating money to carry the provisions of this act into effect, approved March 6, 1906; to provide for the appointment of a commission, and fixing their term of office; to give to said commission the power of eminent domain, the power to make and enforce rules and regulations governing the traffic and use of the State highway system, not in conflict with the laws of this State, and to prescribe penalties for the violation of such rules and regulations, approved September 5, 1919, and to repeal all other sections of the Code and acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act,” approved March 24, 1922, said section relating to the advertising for bids.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 105 of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Richmond, approved March 24, 1926, as heretofore amended.
An ACT to provide for the release of the liability of members of the boards of supervisors of counties for pay drawn by them in excess of the amount prescribed by law in certain cases, and to provide for the release of judgments heretofore recovered for such excess pay.
An ACT to provide that, in any city having a population of not less than sixty-five thousand nor more than one hundred thousand according to the last preceding United States census, all lists of real estate returned delinquent for non-payment of local levies thereon, shall be recorded by the treasurer in delinquent land books to be kept in his office; that no such delinquent list, nor any report of sale of delinquent real estate, by the treasurer shall be recorded in the office of the clerk of any court of such city; that all payments in redemption of any such delinquent real estate shall be made to the treasurer, or the delinquent tax collector; to transfer to, vest in, and impose upon such treasurers all other authority and duties vested by law in, and imposed upon, clerks of courts of such cities, concerning delinquent real estate, except in the matter of making deeds to purchasers thereof, and to provide for the payment of certain fees and compensation to such treasurer; and the payment of the same into their respective city treasuries; to provide for the appointment of delinquent tax collectors and for fixing their salaries, or compensation.
An ACT to validate certificates of acknowledgment taken by notaries public in foreign countries.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 1715, 1716, 1718, 1719, 1720, 1721, 1722, 1723, 1724, 1725 and 1726 of the Code of Virginia, 1919, as heretofore amended, and to add eleven new sections to the Code of Virginia, to be known and designated as sections 1715 (1), 1719-a, 1720-a, 1720-b, 1720-c, 1721-a, 1721-b, 1724-a, 1726-a, 1726-b and 1726-c, relating to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors, changing the name of said board from State Board of Embalming to State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors of Virginia, providing for the appointment and terms of members of said board, for the qualification of said members as to how said members shall qualify, for the meetings of said board, the election of officers of said board, for the adoption of rules and regulations by said board, for the establishment and conduct of schools; fixing the per diem of the members of said board, the compensation of its officers; prescribing the powers and duties of said board; authorizing the appointment of an inspector and providing for his authority and duties; providing for the qualification of applicants for a license, examination and licensing of embalmers, funeral directors and assistant funeral directors and the fees therefor; to prohibit false statements by applicants; to prohibit bribery and certain deceptive, misleading, improbable and unethical advertising, and to prescribe penalties for the violation thereof; to require a license of persons employed by firms and corporations; to provide for the refusal, suspension or revocation of licenses and for appeals therefrom; to prohibit certain transactions between funeral directors and embalmers and burial associations and to provide penalties for the violation thereof; to require all funds collected by the State board to be paid into the State treasury, there to be retained until appropriated by law; to prescribe what shall constitute violations of this chapter and the penalties therefor; to prescribe certain definitions and to authorize the board to adopt certain rules and regulations; to provide for certain exceptions and exclusions from the act; and to declare each part of this act severable; and to repeal section 1717 of the Code of Virginia relating to membership of the State Board of Health.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 27 of an act entitled “An act to provide a new charter for the city of Roanoke and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amendatory thereof, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the city of Roanoke,” approved March 22, 1924, as heretofore amended, said section relating to the civil and police justice.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 9 and 52 of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Hopewell and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amendatory thereof and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the city of Hopewell, approved March 29, 1934
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 671 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, in relation to plans and requirements for the construction of public school buildings, condemnation of unsafe or unfit buildings, fire escapes and exits, and fire drills, so as to authorize the State Board of Education to require such changes in public school buildings as may be necessary for safety against fire and panic hazards, and to withhold from any county, city or town failing to meet such requirements certain State school funds.
An ACT authorizing the appointment by the board of supervisors of any county, county planning commission for said county, defining the duties of said planning commission and authorizing the appropriation of county funds for the purpose of carrying on the work of said commission.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3388 of the Code of Virginia.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 350 of the Tax Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the receipt and disbursement of money paid to county treasurers for the accounts of the Commonwealth and the counties.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 13 of an act entitled ‘act to provide for the compensation of attorneys for the Commonwealth in the counties and cities, county and city treasurers, and county and city commissioners of the revenue, and officers and employees performing the duties of such officers in counties which adopt optional forms of county organization and government; to prescribe the method of fixing and paying their salaries and the expenses of the operation of their offices; to provide for the payment of such salaries and expenses; to provide for the disposition of the fees collected by such officers; to provide for a Compensation Board to administer this act; to provide for the powers, duties and functions of such board; to abolish the State Fee Commission; to appropriate funds for the payment of salaries and expenses and for the administration of this act; and to repeal all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act,’ approved March 29, 1934, as heretofore amended, in relation to the salaries and expenses of commissioners of the revenue in cities containing more than 175,000 inhabitants.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 15 of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact all acts creating and amending the charter of the city of Charlottesville, and to provide a charter and special form of government for the said city, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act, so far as they relate to the city of Charlottesville, approved March 24, 1922, relating to certain powers of the city council, and to further amend the said act by adding thereto a new section to be numbered section 26%, authorizing the city council to appoint a city jailor and such deputy jailors as may be necessary and to fix their compensation, and prescribing the powers and duties of such jailors.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 381, as amended, 386, 388, 389, 390, 393 and 394 of the Code of Virginia relating to public printing so as to prescribe the powers and duties of the Director of the Division of Purchase and Printing and the Director of the Division of the Budget with reference thereto, and to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered 393-a, providing for the editing and printing of reports and publications of departments, officers, boards, commissions and other agencies of the Commonwealth; and to repeal section 280 of the Code of Virginia of 1887, as heretofore amended, relating to the printing and distribution of annual reports.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 1224 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, in relation to testing cattle for tuberculosis and Bang’s disease.
An ACT to fix the minimum compensation of civil justices in certain cities of the Commonwealth, and to prohibit such civil justices from practicing law.

An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Independence, in the county of Grayson, approved March 27, 1934, by adding thereto a new section numbered 7-a, providing how persons convicted of violating town ordinances may be required to work on the streets and roads in said town.
An ACT to provide for the compensation of city sergeants in cities having a population of not less than 120,000 nor more than 150,000 according to the last United States census; and cities having a population between 40,000 and 44,000; to prescribe the method of fixing and paying salaries and the expenses of the operation of their offices; to provide for the payment of such salaries and expenses; to provide for the collection of certain fees and charges by and for city sergeants and for the disposition of the same; to provide for the maintenance of prisoners in jails in cities and for food, clothing and medicine for such prisoners
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 2707 of the Code of Virginia, in relation to supervisors not being interested in certain contracts.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled “an act to provide for the supervision, regulation, and fixing of the rates and charges of persons, associations and corporations, issuing motor vehicle liability insurance policies; to require such persons, associations, and corporations to file reports, rates, rate manuals, schedules of rates, rating plans, information concerning rates, and changed deviations therefrom, with the State Corporation Commission; to prescribe the rights, powers and duties of the State Corporation Commission concerning stich matters; to provide for the establishment of an administrative bureau and membership therein; to provide for appeals from the State Corporation Commission; to prescribe penalties for violations of this act; and to repeal all acts and parts of acts in conflict herewith,” approved March 23, 1932.
An ACT to provide for the establishing of systems of pensions and group insurance for injured, retired and superannuated employees, in any county adjoining a city in this State having more than 180,000 inhabitants, and to prescribe how funds may be provided for such purpose.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 63 of chapter 34 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1918, entitled an act to provide a charter and special form of government for the city of Norfolk and to repeal the existing charter of said city, approved March 14, 1906, and the several acts amendatory thereof, approved respectively March 12, 1908, March 14, 1908, March 7, 1912, March 13, 1912, March 13, 1914, March 17, 1914, March 24, 1914, March 25, 1914, March 25, 1914, February 5, 1915, March 4, 1916, March 11, 1916, March 16, 1916, March 17, 1916, March 20, 1916, March 20, 1916, and March 20, 1916, and all other acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the said city of Norfolk, approved February 7, 1918, so as to prescribe the conditions under which officers and employees of the division of fire and the division of police may be discharged.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 35 of an act entitled an act to revise, simplify, rearrange and consolidate into one act which shall constitute and be designated and cited as “The Motor Vehicle Code of Virginia,” the various statutes of the Commonwealth, concerning the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, the licensing of chauffeurs, the collection of fees and disposition of funds collected, the operation of vehicles on the public roads, highways, streets, and alleys, the Division of Motor Vehicles and the director of said division, the powers and duties of said division and director, and the penalties for violations of the provisions of certain such statutes; and to repeal all statutes and acts in conflict with the provisions of this act, approved March 26, 1932, as heretofore amended and re-enacted by an act approved March 2, 1934, in relation to registration fees.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled 'an act to authorize the governing boards of the University of Virginia, the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, the Virginia Normal and Industrial Institute and the State Teachers Colleges at Farmville and Harrisonburg to issue and sell, through the commissioners of the sinking fund, certificates of indebtedness in the name and on behalf of their institutions, respectively, to raise funds for dormitory construction purposes and for the construction of a power and heating plant at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute, subject to the conditions and limitations contained in this act; to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity; to authorize and require the State Board of Education to sell any State bonds held as a part of the literary fund, when so directed by the Governor, and to invest the proceeds: derived from the sale of such bonds in the certificates of indebtedness issued under the provisions of this act and to authorize and require the State Board of Education, when so directed by the Governor, to invest any uninvested portion of the literary fund in the certificates of indebtedness issued under the provisions of this act:' which follows the plan of the Noell Act, Chapter 489, Acts of 1926, adopted in the budget,” approved February 28, 1928, so as to authorize the Medical College of Virginia to issue and sell under the provisions of the said act certificates of indebtedness in an amount not to exceed $250,000 to raise funds for the payment of certain outstanding indebtedness.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 835 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the appointment of the board of visitors for the Virginia Military Institute.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2708 of the Code of Virginia prohibiting city and town officers from being interested in contracts with their city or town.
An ACT to authorize the State Highway Commissioner to convey to the Building and Loan Company of Manchester, Incorporated, a certain parcel of real estate in Chesterfield county no longer needed for State highway purposes, in exchange for a parcel of land now owned by the Building and Loan Company of Manchester, Incorporated.
An ACT to provide a new charter for the town of South Hill, in Mecklenburg county, Virginia, and to repeal an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of South Hill, Mecklenburg county, Virginia, approved February 16, 1901, and all acts amendatory thereof.
An ACT providing for the formation of non-profit corporations to be known as Electric Cooperatives, for the purpose of promoting and encouraging the fullest possible use of electric energy in this State by making electric energy available at the lowest cost consistent with sound economy and prudent management of such cooperatives; providing for the rights, powers and duties of such cooperatives; authorizing and regulating the issuance of bonds and other obligations by such cooperatives, and providing for the payment of such obligations and the rights of the holders thereof; and providing when the State Corporation Commission may require electric utility companies to make electric energy available to communities not now served.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding to Chapter 175 thereof a new section to be numbered Section 4354-a, relating to the collection of premiums by industrial insurance agents.
An ACT to amend Chapter 6 of an act entitled “An act to provide a charter for the city of Petersburg,’ approved March 11, 1875, as heretofore amended, by adding thereto a new section numbered 7, in relation to bringing actions against the city for damages.
An ACT to require certain officers to deposit in bank to the credit of an official account, all money received or collected for or on account of the Commonwealth, or any county, city, town, or person, subject to certain exceptions; to relieve such officers from liability upon certain conditions, and to prescribe penalties.
