An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4852 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to grand juries.
An ACT to amend section 6501 of the Code of Virginia which said section is in chapter 272 of the said Code on the subject of executions, and the means of enforcing the recoveries of money otherwise than by such writ.
An ACT for the relief of W. H. Williams and Company, Incorporated, W. H. Harris Grocery Company, Incorporated, Nelson Canning Company, C. G. Reaburn, Staples Grocery Company, Incorporated, Phillips-Lewis Company, Incorporated, Curtice Brothers Company, Barrow, Penn and Company, Banner Fuel Corporation and Smokeless Fuel Corporation.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3l-a of an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Roanoke, Virginia, and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amendatory thereof and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the city of Roanoke, approved February 28, 1928, so as to authorize the hustings court of the city of Roanoke, or the judge thereof in vacation to appoint a bail commissioner or bail commissioners for the city of Roanoke, to provide for the disposition of fees collected by a bail commissioner, to provide for the compensation of a bail commissioner, to authorize the council of the city of Roanoke, Virginia, to fix the compensation of such bail commissioner and to authorize certain officers of the city of Roanoke to admit persons to bail.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5259 of the Code of Virginia, relating to probate, impeachment and establishment of wills.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section to be numbered section 5216-b, relating to the recordation of judgments, orders and decrees of United States courts affecting the title to, boundary or possession of, or any interest in and to real estate situated within this State.
An ACT to regulate and control the production, preparation, manufacture, possession, transportation, sale, disposition and use of coca leaves, cocaine, opium, morphine, codeine, heroin, and any compound, manufacture, salt, derivative, mixture and preparation thereof or of either, and substances not chemically distinguishable from such drugs or either of them; to provide for the issuance, suspension and revocation of licenses to produce, prepare, manufacture, sell, dispense and otherwise handle such drugs; to prescribe penalties for violations of this act; to repeal all acts and parts of acts in conflict herewith: and to provide that this act may be designated and cited as the "Uniform Narcotic Drug Act."
An ACT to prohibit conspiracies to murder, rape, rob and kidnap persons and to burglarize, break and enter and burn buildings, and to provide penalties for violations of this act.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding to chapter 169 thereof a new section, numbered 4248-a, prohibiting misrepresentations by insurance companies and officers, directors and agents thereof and others, and providing penalties for violations.

An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding to chapter 124 thereof a new section numbered 3120-a prohibiting special justices, who are judges or justices of any civil court, civil and police court or police court in certain cities from practicing law.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto two new sections to be designated as section 3109-a and section 3118-a, providing respectively for the appointment of clerks of civil and police justices courts and for the appointment of bailiffs of civil justices courts, prescribing their duties and providing for their compensation; and to repeal section 3110 of the Code of Virginia relating to bailiffs for civil and police justices courts.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered section 5371-a in order to provide for the appointment and qualification of personal representatives and guardians in certain cases without security; to exempt certain estates from taxes and court costs, and to repeal ia 293 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1918, approved March 16
An ACT for the relief of Thomas F. Clemmer.
An ACT to provide for the dismissal of suits and actions which have been at rules for more than three years, and for noting such dismissal on the margin of the page of the deed book where any lis pendens filed in such suit or action has been recorded.
An ACT to make it a misdemeanor to operate fraudulently any coin-box telephone; or to obtain fraudulently from any such coin-box telephone the use or enjoyment of telephone or telegraph service; or to manufacture, sell or give away, with intent to defraud or knowing the same is intended for an unlawful use, any slug, device or substance whatsoever for the operation of any coin-box telephone.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5936 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the court of law and chancery of the city of Norfolk.
An ACT to provide for the relief of Miss Ruby L. Garst.
An ACT to amend section 3106 of the Code of Virginia, which said section is in chapter 124 of the said Code, on the subject of civil and police justices and civil justices.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto sixteen new sections, numbered 4988-a to 4988-p, both inclusive, relating to the appointment of trial justices and substitute trial justices in counties; providing for the appointment of clerks for such trial justices, and prescribing the terms of office, jurisdiction, duties and compensation of such trial justices, substitute trial justices and clerks; to appropriate the sum of forty thousand ($40,000.00) dollars annually or so much thereof as may be necessary for the purpose, for distribution among certain counties, and to repeal section 4988-a of the Code of Virginia, as enacted into law by chapter 81 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1926, and all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
An ACT to appropriate the public revenue for the two years ending respectively on the thirtieth day of June, 1935, and the thirtieth day of June, 1936.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 5335 and 5340 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to estates of persons under disability.
An ACT to define the term "machine gun"; to declare the use and possession of a machine gun, for certain purposes, a crime and to prescribe the punishment therefor; to require manufacturers, dealers and other persons, with certain exemptions, in possession thereof, to register all machine guns with the Secretary of the Commonwealth: to keep records of and report transfers and sales to the said Secretary; to allow inspection of records and of machine guns by peace officers; to provide for seizures and search warrants; to prescribe rules of evidence and presumptions; to provide penalties, and to repeal all inconsistent acts.
An ACT to amend sections 4, 5, 11, 14, 17, 20, 27, 33, 34, 35, 36 and 38 of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of South Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, approved September 11, 1919, as heretofore amended, which town has since become the city of South Norfolk and to provide a charter for the city of South Norfolk, approved March 20, 1924, and to further amend said act by adding thereto two new sections numbered ll-a and 24-a.
An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to provide a police commission for Norfolk county, to appoint and have supervision and control of the police force in said county; to prescribe the powers, duties and compensation of such commission and of such police force, and of the members of each; and to repeal chapter 404 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1922, approved March 24, 1922, and all amendments thereof, approved March 29, 1932.
An ACT to prohibit persons from releasing or causing or procuring tc be released in any private home or place of public gathering, tear gas.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 21 of an act entitled an act to reorganize the administration of the State government in order to secure better service, and through co-ordination and consolidation, to promote economy and efficiency in the work of the government; to create and establish or continue certain departments, divisions, offices, officers, and other agencies, and to prescribe their powers and duties; to abolish certain offices, boards, commissions and other agencies, and to repeal all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act to the extent of such inconsistency, approved April 18, 1927, as heretofore amended.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5447 of the Code of Virginia, relating to unlawful entry and detainer, authorizing recovery of rents and damages.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6299 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the substitution of trustees in place of trustees who have died, resigned, removed or declined the trust, so as to validate decrees or orders of substitution heretofore made by courts of competent jurisdiction.

An ACT to provide for the compensation of attorneys for the Commonwealth in the counties and cities, county and city treasurers, and county and city commissioners of the revenue, and officers and employees performing the duties of such officers in counties which adopt optional forms of county organization and government; to prescribe the method of fixing and paying their salaries and the expenses of the operation of their offices; to provide for the payment of such salaries and expenses; to provide for the disposition of the fees collected by such officers; to provide for a Compensation Board to administer this act; to provide for the powers, duties and functions of such board: to abolish the State Fee Commission; to appropriate funds for the payment of salaries and expenses and for the administration of this act; and to repeal all acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to authorize any judge or judges of a court or courts of record of the city of Norfolk to act as judge or court in any other court of record of said city, at the request of the judge of any one of said courts
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6298 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to appointment of trustees in the place of one who is dead, has resigned, removed or declined the trust, authorizing the beneficiary to make the appointment of substitute trustees in certain cases.
An ACT validating acknowledgments heretofore taken by notaries public in the State of Virginia whose commissions have expired.
An ACT to provide for the appointment of a commission on redistricting judicial circuits in Virginia; to prescribe the powers and duties of such commission and to appropriate funds for certain expense of said commission.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 93 of the Code of Virginia, relating to registration of voters and who to be registered.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding to chapter 169 thereof, a new section numbered 4257-d, prohibiting officers and directors of insurance companies from being pecuniarily interested in certain transactions.
An ACT to provide for commencing civil actions to be tried by civil and police justices, civil justices and trial justices by notice of motion, and to repeal an act entitled an act to provide for the trial of civil cases by a civil and police justice on motion, approved March 15, 1924.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6469 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to lis pendens and attachment.
An ACT to prohibit the sale or receipt of second hand heating or plumbing fixtures or supplies, electrical fixtures or wiring, gas fixtures or appliances, water faucets, pipes, locks, bath tubs, or other second hand fixtures of whatever kind or description pertaining to a building without a permit; to require persons engaged in the buying and selling of such articles to keep permanent records of such transactions and the names and descriptions of the persons participating in the same; to require junk dealers and dealers in such second hand personal property to make reports of such transactions; to exempt certain persons from the provisions of this act; to require the books and premises of all persons affected by this act to be open to police inspection; and to prescribe penalties for the violation of the provisions of this act; and to define dealers within the meaning of this act.
An ACT to prohibit sheriffs, sergeants, constables and high constables or any of their deputies from purchasing effects sold by them under writs and to prohibit any such officers from acting as an auctioneer or common crier unless he first obtains a license to act as such.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5249 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to probate of wills, appointment and qualification of appraisers, personal representatives and curators, by clerks and deputies, and appeals therefrom.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4938 of the Code of Virginia, in relation to the cost of printing records, and to certain sections applicable to criminal and civil cases.

An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section, numbered 4902-b, providing for the selection, use, powers and duties of additional jurors in the trial of certain criminal cases to substitute for regular jurors who die or are discharged, or excused, to prevent mistrials in such cases.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3, as heretofore amended, of an act entitled an act making it a misdemeanor for a husband to desert or neglect his wife or for a parent to desert or neglect his children; prescribing the penalty therefor, and making provision for the apprehension and punishment of persons charged with or convicted of non-support; providing for the taking of recognizances and for the forfeiture and enforcement of the same; providing for the appointment of probation officers, prescribing their duties and powers, and repealing certain acts, approved March 27, 1918, in relation to jurisdiction in cases of desertion and non-support.
An ACT to amend Chapter 6 of an act entitled “An act to provide a charter for the city of Petersburg,’ approved March 11, 1875, as heretofore amended, by adding thereto a new section numbered 7, in relation to bringing actions against the city for damages.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 611, 612, 613, 614, 615, 638, 641, 642, 643, 649, 653, 655, 656, 657, 660, 667, 669, 673, 674, 683, 684, 688, 695, 700, 707, 708, and 716 of the Code of Virginia, Sections 611, 612, 638, 642, 649, 653, 655, 656, 660, 673, 683, 684, 688 and 695 of which have heretofore been amended, all of which sections relate to the State Board of Education, the Superintendent of Public Instruction, division superintendents, county and city school boards, the literary fund, and to the establishment, maintenance and administration of the public school system, so as, among other things, to make certain of said sections applicable to cities, to validate county bond elections, to prescribe qualifications of certain teachers for purposes of compulsory education; to provide for settlements of treasurers with school boards, and to prohibit school boards from employing their members for certain purposes; to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered six hundred and ninety-eight, providing for the levying of taxes and the appropriation of moneys in counties, cities and towns for public school purposes, and to repeal section six hundred and ninety-eight-a of the Code of Virginia relating to the same matter, and to further amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered seven hundred and forty-one, relating to the qualifications of drivers of school buses and the methods by which their fitness shall be determined; and to prohibit the school board from employing certain persons related to the Division Superintendent.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sub-sections (f), (i), (j) and (k) of section 29 of chapter 64 of the acts of 1922, entitled an act to provide a new charter for the city of Suffolk and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amendatory thereof and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the said city of Suffolk
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 1682 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to and regulating the compounding and retailing of drugs, drug products and domestic remedies, providing for the inspection of places where the same are manufactured and sold; so as to require certain equipment and making unlawful certain signs and ee oe
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section, numbered 4902-a, providing that when a jury is required to be kept together, the court may for good cause permit one or more of such jurors to be separated from the others, provided all such jurors be kept in charge of officers provided therefor.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6371 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the destruction of manuscript records and the binding of printed records in the clerk’s offices of the Supreme Court of Appeals.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 55 of Chapter 94 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1934, approved March 7, 1934, and known, designated and cited as the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, the said section relating to common nuisances; how persons punished for maintaining, or aiding and abetting or knowingly associating with others in maintaining same; bonds.
An ACT to authorize, under certain conditions and under the direc-tion and control of certain courts, assignments by certain persons of salary, wages and income to trustees for the benefit of creditors; defining the power and duties of such trustees and fixing their compensation; and prescribing the effect of such assignments as to creditors of the parties so assigning.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 4, 7, 9, 13, 15, 19, 20, 20-a and 21 of an act entitled "an act to provide for a State Boxing and Wrestling Commission, to prescribe its powers and duties, and to provide for the expense of administering this act; to authorize and empower counties, cities and towns to determine by ordinance, referendum, or otherwise, when boxing and wrestling contests may be held therein; to provide for boxing and wrestling contests for prizes or purses, or where an admission is charged, and limiting such boxing contests to fifteen rounds and wrestling matches by such rules as may be promulgated by the commission; to prescribe conditions under which licenses shall be issued and contests held; to declare that amateur boxing and wrestling contests conducted heretofore shall be subject to the provisions of this measure and under the sole jurisdiction of such commission in all cases wherein an admission fee is charged spectators to witness such amateur boxing and/or wrestling contests; to provide for licensing and taxing such boxing and wrestling matches and providing for the distribution of the moneys derived therefrom," approved March 29, 1934, said sections being in relation to licenses, permits, compensation of officers, referees, number of bouts of matches, and appropriation of money collected.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section, numbered 6253-a, designating the judges who may sign bills of exceptions and certificates of exceptions pertaining to any case tried in any court by a judge who is not the regular judge thereof.
An ACT to authorize and empower peace officers of other State of the United States to follow in close pursuit and arrest in Virginia persons fleeing into Virginia, and to provide for the disposition of such persons after such arrest.
An ACT to authorize the boards of supervisors of the counties of Franklin and Bedford to make appropriations for the expenses of the judge of the thirtieth judicial circuit.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4767 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to how attempts to commit offenses punished.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to prescribe how a new day for the execution of the sentence of death shall be fixed, and dispensing with the presence of the person to be executed, approved March 20, 1922, so as to prescribe a new day for the execution of a sentence in case of a reprieve by the Governor.
