An ACT to empower any city and county now jointly operating or which may hereafter jointly operate a ferry or ferries to issue bonds therefor.
An ACT to authorize and empower counties, cities and towns to pledge all or any part of fees, rents, tolls, charges and other revenues and receipts from projects, improvements and undertakings, and extensions, additions, improvements and betterments, thereto to secure payment of their bonds, interim certificates and other obligations.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5431 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to securities in which fiduciaries may invest funds.
1936
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 55 of Chapter 94 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1934, approved March 7, 1934, and known, designated and cited as the Alcoholic Beverage Control Act, the said section relating to common nuisances; how persons punished for maintaining, or aiding and abetting or knowingly associating with others in maintaining same; bonds.
An ACT to validate, ratify and confirm certain bonds issued by the town of Farmville January 1, 1931, and known as Series J Utility Refunding Bonds, principal due January 1, 1961, redeemable at the option of the town after 5 years from date of issue.
An ACT to authorize the issuance of refunding bonds by cities and towns; to prescribe a mode of procedure therefor; to provide for the payment of such bonds; to validate all bonds so refunded; to prescribe various details pertinent to the subject matter of this act; to provide that any such city or town may avail itself of the provisions of the Act of Congress relating to bankruptcy and municipal debt readjustment; and to declare an emergency.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 5431 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to securities in which fiduciaries may invest funds.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 3 and 4, as heretofore amended, of an act entitled an act to provide for the creation of sanitary districts in any county adjacent to a city having a population of thirty thousand, or more, according to the latest United States census; to prescribe the powers and duties of the boards of supervisors of such counties as to the acquisition, construction, maintenance and operation of water supply, sewerage, heat, light, power and gas systems in such districts; to provide for the issuance of bonds to raise funds for establishing of such public utilities in such districts, and to provide for the maintenance thereof, and for the payment of such bonds, approved March 27, 1930, so as to provide for the construction, maintenance and operation of sidewalks in such districts.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 22 and 23 of an act entitled "an act to provide a new charter for the town of Farmville," approved February 10, 1890, as amended by chapter 162 of the Acts of the Assembly of 1912, approved March 16, 1912, said sections relating to the issuance of bonds; to provide for the issuance of serial bonds; to prescribe the procedure for issuing refunding bonds; and to validate all bonds now outstanding.
An ACT to authorize the Town Council of the Town of Orange, to issue bonds in the sum of $50,000, to be used in refunding certain water bonds and water improvement bonds heretofore issued, and providing for the assessment and collection of certain taxes for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to repeal the two sections numbered 29 of an act entitled, "an act to provide a new charter for the town of Waynesboro, Virginia, and to repeal all acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith," approved March 26, 1928, and to amend said act by adding thereto and inserting therein in lieu of the sections repealed, two new sections numbered 29 and 29-a, providing for the issuance of bonds, the laying of levies, and the appropriation of moneys.
An ACT to require that the bonds of all officers and employees of the departments, agencies and institutions of the Commonwealth, except the Division of Accounts and Control, be filed in the office of the State Comptroller, and that the bonds of all such officers and employees in the Division of Accounts and Control be filed in the office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 4835 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the fees of bail commissioners and clerks of courts for admitting persons to bail and the authority of the clerk to exercise powers of a bail commissioner.
An ACT to authorize the city of Hampton, Virginia, to borrow money and issue bonds in the amount of $10,000.00 to be used in the purchase of a site and paying for certain skilled labor incident to the building of an armory in said city, in conjunction with a United States Work’s Progress Administration Project, and to require the council of said city annually to levy taxes to pay the interest thereon and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 19 of an act entitled "an act to authorize and empower educational institutions of the State to erect buildings and to make other improvements to their plants and for such purpose to borrow or accept money under the provisions of an act of the Congress of the United States, known as the National Industrial Recovery Act, approved June 16, 1933, and any acts amendatory thereof, and any acts supplemental thereto and revisions thereof, and any further acts of the Congress of the United States, and to issue bonds and certificates of indebtedness and other obligations; to provide funds for the payment of the principal of and the interest on the same and to secure such payment; and to authorize and empower said institutions to lease with or without the privilege of purchase buildings and projects constructed pursuant to the provisions of said National Industrial Recovery Act and any acts amendatory thereof and any acts supplemental thereto and revisions thereof, and any further act of the Congress of the United States, and to acquire and convey such real estate or other property as shall be required for such buildings and projects, approved September 12, 1933, so as to extend the effective date of certain provisions of said act until July 1, 1938.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto two new sections numbered 6437-a and 6437-b, in relation to, and providing a method for, obtaining the release of mechanics liens and other similar liens by the payment of money into court, or by filing bond with security.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 14 of an act entitled "an act to enable counties, cities and towns to secure the benefits of an act of the Congress of the United States of America, approved June 16, 1933, known as the National Industrial Recovery Act, and any acts amendatory thereof and any acts supplemental thereto and revisions thereof, and any further act of the Congress of the United States of America delegating powers to undertake any purpose or purposes in aid of the financing of which the President of the United States or any other Federal agency is now or hereafter authorized and empowered, through the Federal Emergency Administrator of Public Works or through such other agencies as may be designated or created, to make grants or loans; delegating powers to contract debts, borrow money and issue bonds therefor; prescribing the mode of procedure for, and regulating the issuance of such bonds, and providing for the payment thereof; authorizing agreements with the holders of such bonds and providing for the remedies of such holders; and repealing inconsistent provisions of all laws general or special of the Commonwealth," approved September 7, 1933, so as to extend the effective date of certain provisions of said act until July 1, 1938.
An ACT to validate the proceedings and acts of the council, the election officials and certain officers, of the town of Berryville, in connection with the ordering and holding of an election on the question of the issuing of $30,000.00 of bonds of said town to provide a sewerage system and disposal plant, and in connection with the issuance of said bonds and fixing the rate of interest thereon; and to provide that said bonds shall be valid and binding obligations of said town.
An ACT validating, ratifying, approving, and confirming certain bonds and other instruments or obligations heretofore issued, and validating, ratifying, approving, and confirming certain proceedings heretofore taken, by counties, cities, towns, school districts, school boards, and sanitary districts in, and educational institutions of, this Commonwealth.
An ACT validating, ratifying, approving and confirming the creation of all sanitary districts of this Commonwealth and all proceedings taken for such creation as of the date of such creation or proceedings, and validating, ratifying, approving and confirming elections heretofore held for, and proceedings heretofore taken relative to, the issuance of bonds in sanitary districts.
An ACT validating certain outstanding indebtedness of the town of Phoebus, Virginia, and authorizing said town to borrow money and issue bonds for the purpose of funding part of such indebtedness and refunding part of such indebtedness and to require the council of said town annually to levy taxes to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize counties, districts, cities and towns to issue bonds for the purpose of funding floating indebtedness; to prescribe how such bonds may be issued, and the terms thereof as to interest and time to run; to provide how such bonds may be sold or disposed of and how the proceeds shall be applied; to provide for the levying of taxes for the payment of such bonds; and to validate the principal of such bonds and the interest thereon and also the floating indebtedness to be funded.
An ACT to validate, ratify, approve and confirm bonds issued by the County School Board of Warwick County, at a special election heretofore held on November 5, 1935, authorizing the issuance of such bonds by said County School Board, for the purpose of erecting, furnishing and equipping a school building in Warwick County, Virginia, under the rules and regulations prescribed by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works.
An ACT to amend an act entitled an act to provide a new charter for the town of Waynesboro, Virginia, and to repeal all acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith, approved March 26, 1928, by adding thereto a new section numbered 4l-a, to provide for the school board of said town to borrow money for the purpose of erecting school houses and to issue bonds therefor.
An ACT validating certain outstanding indebtedness for street paving of the city of Hampton, Virginia, and authorizing said city to borrow money and issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness, and to require the council of said city annually to levy taxes to pay the interest thereon and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the issuance of bonds by county school boards of counties in the State of Virginia for the purpose of providing funds for school improvements in said counties, including the purchase of sites for school buildings or additions to school buildings, the construction of school buildings or additions to school buildings, and the furnishing and equipping of school buildings or additions to school buildings.
An ACT to validate bonds issued under the provisions of an act entitled "an act to provide for the settlement of the public debt of Virginia not funded under the provisions of an act entitled an act to ascertain and declare Virginia’s equitable share of the debt created before and actually existing at the time of the partition of her territory and resources, and to provide for the issuance of bonds covering the same, and the regular and prompt payment of the interest thereon, approved February 14, 1882," approved February twentieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, and to provide for the retirement of said bonds by authorizing and directing the issuance and sale or exchange of $11,750,000.00 or so much thereof as may be necessary, of bonds and/or notes of the Commonwealth of Virginia; to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and/or notes herein provided for and the principal thereof at maturity; to allow holders of bonds issued under the said act of 1892 to exchange, upon certain conditions, said bonds for bonds issued under the provisions of this act; to provide for the funding of obligations of the Commonwealth authorized to be funded by an act, approved February twentieth, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, remaining unfunded as of the date of issue of bonds herein authorized and for the payment of the principal of and accrued interest on the debt so funded and making an appropriation therefor; to provide for the payment of expenses incident to carrying out the provisions of this act and making an appropriation therefor; to repeal all acts or parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
An ACT to require bonds issued by any county or magisterial district in this State after January 1, 1937, to be made payable in certain installments.
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section numbered 4981l-a, requiring the docketing of judgments obtained by the Commonwealth in courts of record on forfeited recognizances and bonds, and providing for the payment of the fees for such recordation.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Accomac county to use certain money realized from the sale of bonds issued in pursuance of chapter 262 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1928, to retire certain of said bonds.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 47 of chapter 473 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1924, entitled “An act to provide a new charter for the city of Roanoke and to repeal the existing charter of said city and the several acts amendatory thereof, and all other acts or parts of acts inconsistent with this act, so far as they relate to the city of Roanoke,” approved March 22, 1924, as heretofore amended.

An ACT to validate, ratify, approve and confirm bonds issued pursuant to any election or proceedings heretofore held or taken authorizing the issuance of such bonds by any county, school board or school district of the State for the purpose of making school improvements, including the purchase of land, building, rebuilding, adding to, improving or equipping any school buildings of any county or school district.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 4211 of the Code of Virginia, relating to deposits of bonds and securities with the Treasurer of Virginia by insurance, guaranty, indemnity and other like companies, so as to permit the deposit by domestic companies of such bonds and securities in excess of the amount required by this section, which excess deposit shall be for the protection of all its policyholders.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 72 of the Tax Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, in relation to the taxation of bonds of counties, cities and towns, and other political subdivisions of this State, so as to bring within the provisions of that section the bonds, certificates of indebtedness, and other obligations hereafter issued by State educational institutions under the provisions of Chapter 49 of the Acts of Assembly of 1933, as amended.

An ACT to validate $165,000.00 of 5% bonds issued by Consumers Utilities Company to Charles B. Zeigler on November 1, 1936.
An ACT to amend the Tax Code of Virginia by adding to Chapter 16 thereof a new section numbered 233-a, requiring the State Corporation Commission to certify assessments, or statements of assessments, of certain property of public service corporations as defined in Section 153 of the Constitution of Virginia, so as to show the character, value and location of such property with reference to certain districts in counties, which now have an executive form of government and prescribing duties of public service corporations and commissioners of the revenue, and the clerk of said commission, with reference to such assessments and statements.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 1 of an act entitled “An act to provide for the issuance of bonds to carry into effect the purposes of any sanitary district heretofore or hereafter created by a special act of the General Assembly”

An ACT validating certain outstanding indebtedness of the Town of Phoebus, Virginia, and authorizing the school board of the said Town of Phoebus, Virginia, to borrow money and issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness, and requiring the council of said town annually to levy taxes to pay the interest on the said new bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity; and repealing certain acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
An ACT to provide a new charter for the town of Vienna, in Fairfax county, and to repeal an act entitled ‘‘An act to incorporate the town of Vienna, in Fairfax county.’’
AN ACT validating, ratifying, approving and confirming proceedings heretofore taken, and elections heretofore held, to provide for and relative to the authorization, issuance, sale, execution and delivery of bonds by or on behalf of sanitary districts.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 2 of an act entitled ‘An act to provide for the creation of sanitary districts in any county adjacent to a city having a population of thirty thousand, or more, according to the latest United States census; to prescribe the powers and duties of the boards of supervisors of such counties as to the acquisition, construction, maintenance and operation of water supply, sewerage, heat, light, power and gas systems in such districts; to provide for the issuance of bonds to raise funds for establishing of such public utilities in such districts, and to provide for the maintenance thereof, and for the payment of such bonds.’
An ACT to validate $55,500.00 of 2 per cent general obligation bonds issued by the city of Williamsburg, in pursuance of an ordinance of the City Council, and of an election on the question, held on November 7, 1939, the proceeds of said bonds to be used in connection with the erection of a public school building in said city, for colored children.
An ACT to authorize and empower the Board of Supervisors of any county which adjoins three cities lying wholly within this State, one of which cities has a population of 170,000 or more as shown by the last preceding United States census, to construct, reconstruct, maintain, alter, improve, add to and operate water supply systems; to acquire by gift, condemnation, purchase, lease, or otherwise, water supply system or systems; to furnish water from any such system to any sanitary district, village, town, community, individuals, firm, corporation or partnership; to make such charge for the supply of water herein authorized as the board may from time to time determine upon; to lay a levy for the purpose of raising funds for the construction, maintenance, operation, improvement and reconstruction of any such water system or systems or to appropriate from the general county fund for such purposes; to contract for a loan and to issue bonds for the purpose of construction, acquisition, reconstruction, improvement, maintenance and operation of any such water system on the credit of the county, provided, that such borrowing power shall not exist, and the loan shall not be contracted for or bonds issued unless and until the action of the Board of Supervisors determining to construct, maintain and operate or acquire, reconstruct, improve such water system shall be certified to the judge of the Circuit Court of said county and petitioning the said judge to call an election for the purpose of obtaining the approval of such loan and bond issue by the qualified voters of the county, and prescribing the duties of the judge of the said Circuit Court of said county; prescribing the duties of the regular election officers, and prescribing the duties and powers of the Board of Supervisors.
An ACT to authorize the Town of Jarratt in Sussex County to issue bonds in the amount of $17,000.00 for the purpose of constructing a water works and water supply and sewer system, to authorize the redemption of such bonds, and to provide for the levy of a tax to pay interest on said bonds and to retire the same as they mature.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 31 and 39, as amended, of an act entitled ‘An act to provide a new charter for the town of Vinton, Virginia, and to repeal all acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith.’
An ACT to validate elections heretofore held for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of any county the question of issuing county bonds for the purpose of funding indebtedness incurred by the county school board for school purposes, and to validate county bonds issued by county school boards pursuant to any such election.
An ACT to authorize the city of Norfolk to issue bonds, notes or other obligations of said city in exchange for bonds, notes or other obligations held in the sinking funds of said city in order to assure a more uniform annual debt service charge for the retirement of outstanding bonded indebtedness, and to regulate the annual contributions to such sinking funds and the maturities of serial bonds hereafter issued by said city of Norfolk.
An ACT validating certain outstanding indebtedness of the City of Hampton, Virginia, incurred for the dredging of Hampton Harbor and certain outstanding indebtedness of the City of Hampton, Virginia, incurred for the purchase of a site for a City Hall and the building of a City Hall in the City of Hampton, Virginia, and authorizing said city to borrow money and issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness and certain funds to the general fund of the said city, and to require the council of said city annually to levy taxes to pay the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the Town of Halifax in Halifax County to issue bonds of said Town in an amount not exceeding the sum of twenty thousand dollars ($20,000.00) for the purpose of constructing and providing a Sewer System for the Town of Halifax, and to provide for the levy of a tax to pay the interest on said bonds and retire the same as they mature.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 3079 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to the purposes for which cities and towns may issue bonds, and to the amount of such bonds.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 8 of an act entitled ‘‘An act creating a sanitary district in Henrico County, Virginia, to provide for the construction, acquisition, maintenance and operation by said district of water supply, sewerage, light and power and gas systems by such district; to provide for the issuance of county bonds on behalf of such district for said purposes, and to provide funds for establishing and operating such public utilities therein.”
An ACT validating certain outstanding indebtedness of the Town of Phoebus, Virginia, and authorizing said Town of Phoebus, Virginia, to borrow money and issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness and to require the council of said town annually to levy taxes to pay the interest on the said new bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the boards of county supervisors of certain counties to invest sinking funds in bonds of the United States, the State of Virginia, or of any county, city, town or district in the State of Virginia.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 6 of an Act entitled ‘‘An Act to prescribe the method of ascertainment of principal and income and the apportionment of receipts and expenses among tenants and remaindermen, and to make uniform the law with reference thereto’
An ACT to validate certain bonded indebtedness of the school board of the city of Hampton, Virginia, and to authorize the said school board of Hampton, Virginia, to issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness and to require the council of the said city of Hampton, Virginia, annually to levy taxes to pay the interest on, and the principal of, the said bonds herein authorized to be issued.
An Act to amend and re-enact an act entitled ‘‘An Act allowing cash deposits in lieu of recognizances with surety in criminal cases.”
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled ‘An Act to authorize any county in which is located in whole or in part, any legally established drainage district, to appropriate money to any such drainage district for application on the indebtedness of such district, or for any other legal purpose thereof, and to authorize the county board of drainage commissioners to accept and use such appropriations for such purposes.”
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto a new section to be numbered Section 3083-a, relating to bond issue elections in any town situated partly in two or more counties, and providing for the ordering, holding and certifying of such elections.
An ACT to enable counties, cities and towns to borrow money and issue bonds therefor; prescribing the mode of procedure for, and regulating the issuance of such bonds, and providing for the payment thereof; authorizing agreements with the holders of such bonds and providing for the remedies of such holders; also to secure the benefits of any agency of the United States of America, now or hereafter created, delegating powers to contract debts; and repealing inconsistent provisions of all laws, general or special, of the Commonwealth.

An ACT to provide that bonds and other obligations issued by a housing authority pursuant to the housing authorities law and any amendment thereto of the Commonwealth of Virginia or issued by any other public housing authority or agency in the United States, when secured by a pledge of annual contributions to be paid by the United States Government, shall be security for all public deposits and negotiable and legal investments for the Commonwealth and public officers, municipal corporations, political subdivisions, and public bodies, all banks, bankers, trust companies, savings banks and institutions, building and loan associations, savings and loan associations, investment companies and other persons carrying on a banking business, all insurance companies, insurance associations and other persons carrying on an insurance business.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of any county adjoining any city within or without this State having a population of more than 125,000, according to the last preceding United States Census, to construct, reconstruct, maintain, alter, improve, add to and operate water supply systems; to acquire by gift, condemnation, purchase, lease or otherwise, water supply system or systems; to furnish water from any such system to any sanitary district, village, town, community, individuals, firm, corporation or partnership; to make such charge for the supply of water herein authorized as the board may from time to time determine upon; to lay a levy for the purpose of raising funds for the construction, maintenance, operation, improvement and reconstruction of any such water system or systems or to appropriate from the general county fund for such purposes; to contract for a loan and to issue bonds for the purpose of construction, acquisition, reconstruction, improvement, maintenance and operation of any such water system on the credit of the county provided that such borrowing power shall not exist, and the loan shall not be contracted for or bonds issued unless and until the action of the board of supervisors determining to construct, maintain and operate or acquire, reconstruct, improve such water system shall be certified to the judge of the circuit court of said county and petitioning the said judge to call an election for the purpose of obtaining the approval of such loan and bond issue by the qualified voters of the county, and prescribing the duties of the judge of the said circuit court of said county; prescribing the duties of the regular election officers, and prescribing the duties and powers of the board of supervisors; and to repeal Chapter 141 of the Acts of the General Assembly of Virginia, 1940, approved March 6, 1940.
An ACT to authorize housing authorities to undertake the development or administration of projects to assure the availability of safe and sanitary dwellings for persons engaged in national-defense activities who would not otherwise be able to secure such dwellings within the vicinity thereof
An ACT to provide that certain desk sergeants of the City of Danville shall have power to admit persons to bail; to prescribe the amount of bail fee and provide that all such fees be paid into the city treasury; to require certain records to be kept by such sergeants; to require them to secure certain information from professional bondsmen; to prescribe penalties for false information or for refusal to give information; to authorize such sergeants to issue processes of arrest and search warrants; to provide for penalties and punishment for issuing a search warrant without the affidavit required by law; and to repeal Chapter 108 of the Acts of the General Assembly of nineteen hundred and twenty-six, approved March sixth, nineteen hundred and twenty-six, relating to a bail commissioner for said city.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 5431 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, relating to securities in which fiduciaries may invest.
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act entitled "An Act to authorize any county in which is located in whole or in part, any legally established drainage district, to appropriate money to any such drainage district for application on the indebtedness of such district, or for any other legal purpose thereof, and to authorize the county board of drainage commissioners to accept and use such appropriations for such purposes."
An ACT to validate certain outstanding indebtedness of the Town of Phoebus, Virginia; to authorize the school board of said town to borrow money and issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness; to require the council of said town annually to levy taxes to pay the interest on said new bonds; to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity; and to repeal Chapter 9, Acts of 1940, approved February 7, 1940, validating certain bonds of the Town of Phoebus, and to repeal all other acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 11 of Chapter 6; Sections 5 and 7 of Chapter 8, as heretofore amended, and Sections 2 and 3 of Chapter 9, of an act entitled "An Act to incorporate the City of Danville."
An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 2 and 47, as heretofore amended, and Sections 29 and 48 of Chapter 473 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1924, approved March 22, 1924, the said chapter providing a new charter for the City of Roanoke, and the said sections relating to the powers of the city, the issuing justice, and the issuance of bonds therein
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 3090-a of the Code of Virginia, relating to cities and towns issuing new bonds for the purpose of funding or refunding outstanding bonds and other obligations.
An ACT to validate certain indebtedness of the school board of the City of Hampton, Virginia, and to authorize the said school board of the City of Hampton, Virginia, to issue bonds for the purpose of refunding such indebtedness and to require the council of the said city of Hampton, Virginia, annually to levy taxes to pay the interest on and the principal of the said bonds herein authorized to be issued.
An ACT to amend Chapter 161 of the Acts of Assembly of 1926, approved March 17, 1926, as heretofore amended, relating to sanitary districts in certain counties of the State, by adding thereto two new sections numbered 2-a and 2-b, to provide for the enlargement of sanitary districts and the merger of two or more sanitary districts into one.
An ACT to amend an act entitled “an act to incorporate the town of Virginia Beach, in the county of Princess Anne, Virginia.”, approved March 6, 1906, as heretofore amended, by adding thereto a new section numbered 6-a, providing for setting up and maintaining a debt fund for the payment of the interest on and principal of certain bonded indebtedness of said town.
An ACT to validate, ratify, approve and confirm bonds heretofore issued, or bonds heretofore authorized to be issued, pursuant to any election heretofore held in any school district of the State, for the purpose of erecting, building, rebuilding, adding to, equipping or otherwise improving school buildings in any such district, in which election the vote was in favor of the issuance of such bonds; and to authorize the levying of taxes for their payment.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 52, as heretofore amended, of an act entitled “An act to provide a new charter for the city of Radford, and to repeal all other acts or parts of acts in conflict therewith.”, approved March 15, 1910, relating to borrowing money and letting certain contracts.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 3, heretofore amended, of an act entitled “An act to provide for the creation of sanitary districts in counties of the State adjoining a city having a population, according to the last preceding United States census, of one hundred and seventy thousand inhabitants or more; to prescribe the powers and duties of the boards of supervisors of such counties as to the construction, acquisition, maintenance and operation of water supply, sewerage, heat, light and power and gas systems in such districts; and to provide for the issuance of county bonds; to provide funds for establishing and operating such public utilities in said sanitary districts.”
An ACT to amend an act entitled “An act to provide a charter and special form of government for the City of Norfolk and to repeal the existing charter of said city, approved March 14, 1906, and the several acts amendatory thereof, approved respectively March 12, 1908, March 14, 1908, March 7, 1912, March 13, 1912, March 13, 1914, March 17, 1914, March 24, 1914, March 25, 1914, March 25, 1914, February 5, 1915, March 4, 1916, March 11, 1916, March 16, 1916, March 17, 1916, March 20, 1916, March 20, 1916, March 20, 1916, and all other acts and parts of acts inconsistent with this act so far as they relate to the said City of Norfolk,” approved February 7, 1918, as heretofore amended, by adding thereto a new section numbered 86 (a) regulating the maturities of serial bonds hereafter issued by the City of Norfolk.
