An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of the special road law of Wythe county, approved March 23, 1920, so as to allow the board of supervisors to contract with the several members of said board to inspect certain road and bridge maintenance and construction and to compensate them therefor.
An ACT to provide for the holding of elections in the Newcastle school district of Craig county, Virginia, on the question of the issuance of bonds for the purpose of acquiring buildings and building sites, and erecting or repairing and furnishing school buildings in such district; to provide for the issuance and sale of said bonds in accordance with said elections; and to provide for the levying of a tax for the purpose of paying the interest on said bonds and to create a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof at maturity.
An Act Authorizing the Board of Supervisors of Princess Anne County to Borrow Money for Road Improvement
An ACT to provide for the issuance of county bonds for constructing and operating water supply systems in the magisterial districts of certain counties of the State; to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity, and to provide for the construction and operation of such water supply systems.
An ACT to authorize the town of Blackstone to erect, purchase, or otherwise acquire a municipal building to be used as a council chamber, court room, jail, house for the fire department and its equipment, mayor’s office, and other town officers, and for other municipal purposes; to authorize the said town to issue bonds in a sum not exceeding fifteen thousand dollars.
An ACT to authorize the county school board of Southampton county to borrow not to exceed twenty-four thousand five hundred dollars; and to issue its bonds therefor for the purpose of paying a like amount of outstanding bonds of Jerusalem school district in said county and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2777. of the Code of Virginia, in relation to bonds of treasurers of counties and cities.
An ACT to authorize, empower and direct the board of supervisors of the county of Princess Anne to borrow money by the issue of bonds in the aggregate sum of one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000.00) for the purpose of purchasing, building and improving roads and bridges in Seaboard magisterial district in said county: to sell the said bonds; to provide for the payment of interest thereon and principal thereof and to authorize the commission of roads and bridges of Princess Anne county for Seaboard magisterial district, to dispense the funds so obtained.
An ACT to authorize the city of Fredericksburg, Virginia, to borrow a sum of money not to exceed one hundred thousand ($100,000.00) dollars, and issue bonds therefor, to cover the cost of improvements and additions to the water system of said city.
An ACT to authorize the town of Cape Charles to borrow $70,000.00 and issue bonds therefor for the purpose of refunding outstanding notes or certificates of indebtedness.
An Act authorizing the county school board of Princess Anne county to borrow money, not in excess of $60,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, for the construction and equipment of a high school building at Oceana in Lynnhaven school district and to pay for the site; and requiring the board of supervisors of said county annually to levy a tax to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT authorizing the county school board of Nansemond county to borrow an amount not exceeding one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000.00), and issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of paying the existing indebtedness of said board, other than its present bonded indebtedness, and for the purpose of carrying on its building program and present plan of school work and activities, and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize, empower and require the board of supervisors of Grayson county to borrow the sum of sixty thousand ($60,000.00) dollars, and to issue bonds therefor, for the surveying, repairing, improving, constructing and hard-surfacing certain roads and bridges in Old Town magisterial district of said county
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 27 to 32, inclusive, as here- tofore amended, of the charter of the town of Woodstock, Virginia
An ACT to repeal Section 2736 of the Code of Virginia, in relation to what counties may issue bonds for eighteen per cent of assessed value of real estate.
An ACT to authorize the county school board of Northampton county in behalf of the several school districts therein, to borrow money and to issue its refunding bonds therefor, for the purpose of paying a like amount of outstanding bonds of the several school districts in said county, or any of them, and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An Act to amend and re-enact section 77 of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact the charter of the town of Martinsville, in the county of Henry, approved March 3, 1892, as heretofore amended, with particular reference to the act approved March 4, 1924, amending said section of said charter.
An ACT to validate and legalize the issuance of $85,000.00 in water bonds of the town of New Market, in the county of Shenandoah, to provide that the said bonds shall not be redeemable until the expiration of ten years from the date of issuance, that the interest on the said bonds shall be paid semi-annually, and to fix the place of payment of the said bonds and the interest thereon.
An Act to authorize the council of the town of South Boston to issue bonds of the town of South Boston in an amount not exceeding fifty thousand ($50,000.00) dollars, and to provide for the levy of a tax to pay interest on said bonds and to retire the same as they mature.
An ACT to authorize the county school board of Accomac county, Virginia, to issue bonds of the school district of Metompkin for the purpose of funding the outstanding indebtedness of said school district and to validate said outstanding indebtedness and the proceedings with respect to said bonds.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 6 of an act entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act to provide for the issuing of county bonds for permanent road or bridge improvement.
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Gretna in the county of Pittsylvania to borrow money, not in excess of $70,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, for the purpose of acquiring the necessary property and constructing a water system or sewerage system or both, and for extending water mains and improving its streets; and to provide for the payment of the interest on said bonds, and the redemption of the principal thereof.
An ACT to authorize, empower and require the board of supervisors of Grayson county to borrow the sum of $30,000.00 and to issue bonds therefor for the repair, improvement and construction of certain roads and bridges in Wilson, Elk Creek and Providence magisterial districts of said county.
An ACT authorizing the town of Leesburg, Virginia, to issue bonds with which to refund the present outstanding water bonds
An ACT to authorize the county school board of Accomac county, Virginia, to issue bonds of the school district of Atlantic for the purpose of funding the outstanding indebtedness of said school district and to validate said outstanding indebtedness and the proceedings with respect to the sale of said bonds.
An ACT to authorize the school board of Big Stone Gap School District in Wise county to borrow not exceeding $15,000.00, and issue bonds
An ACT to provide for the creation of sanitary districts in counties of the State adjoining a city having a population, according to the last preceding United States census, of one hundred and seventy thousand inhabitants or more; to prescribe the powers and duties of the boards of supervisors of such counties as to the construction, acquisition, maintenance and operation of water supply, sewerage, heat, light and power and gas systems in such districts; and to provide for the issuance of county bonds; to provide funds for establishing and operating such public utilities in said sanitary districts.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2601 of the Code of Virginia in relation to the funding of the public debt, etc.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow $200,000.00 and issue bonds therefor for the purpose of refunding outstanding short term notes.
An ACT authorizing the board of supervisors of the county of Warren county to prorate the dog license fund in payment of damages for bonds of the said county therefor, for the purpose of building a bridge across the Shenandoah river at Morgan ford in said county; and authorizing the board of supervisors to annually levy a tax to pay the interest thereon and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2158 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by acts approved March 25, 1920, and February 13, 1922, in relation to State depositories.
An ACT to validate the issuance of $55,000.00 of bonds for the improvement of the water supply system of the town of Berryville, Virginia.
AN ACT to validate an issue of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00) bonds of the town of Lexington, in the county of Rockbridge, for the purpose of erecting additional school buildings and equipment therefor, for the white and colored schools of said town, and providing for the levy of taxes for the payment thereof.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 5316, 5317 and 5318 of the Code of Virginia, in relation to the appointment of guardians and their bonds.
An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to authorize the board of supervisors of Isle of Wight county to issue bonds or other obligations of said county, for the purposes of reimbursing certain road associations and of financing the construction of certain sections of the State highway system in said county; to levy taxes to pay the interest on and to create a sinking fund for said bonds, approved March 14, 1924; and to repeal an act entitled, an act to authorize the county school board of Isle of Wight county to borrow money not in excess of $20,000, and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of defraying expenses incurred and to be incurred in erecting and furnishing a new public school building at Carrsville in Windsor school district; and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity, approved March 14, 1924.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2698 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, in relation to bonds of officers.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Pittsylvania county, Virginia, to issue road bonds of Pittsylvania county in the aggregate amount of $100,000, and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Clintwood in the county of Dickenson to borrow a sum of money, not in excess of $30,000.00, and to issue the bonds of the said town therefor, for the purpose of constructing a water supply system and sewerage system, and for the purpose of improving the streets in the said town, and requiring the said council to annually levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in the said town, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to issue bonds to the maximum amount of $200,000.00, to be used for the following purposes:
An ACT to authorize the council of the town of Honaker in the county of Russell to borrow a sum of money, not in excess of $50,000, and to issue the bonds of the said town therefor, for the purpose of constructing a water supply system, and sewerage system, and for the purpose of improving the streets in the said town; and requiring the said council to annually levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in the said town, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to purchase the water works plant or system now operated by the Newport News Light and Water Company.
An ACT authorizing the board of supervisors of the county of Greene to borrow money, not in excess of $25,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, for the purpose of repairing the present courthouse or building a new one for the said county; and requiring the said board annually to levy a poll on other tax to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An Act to amend and re-enact an act validating certain negotiable notes issued by the board of supervisors of the county of Shenandoah and authorizing said board to issue additional negotiable notes of said county, and to authorize renewals thereof, and to provide for the keeping of a record of such negotiable notes and certificates of indebtedness.
An ACT to amend chapter 448 of the acts of assembly of 1920 in relation to a bond issue for roads in the county of Carroll, by adding thereto a new section to be numbered 7-a.
An ACT to amend and re-enact sections 4, 7, 9, 18 and 87 of an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Crewe, in Nottoway county, Virginia, approved March 20, 1916.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Nansemond and the council of the city of Suffolk to provide for the remodeling of the present jail and jailor’s house of said county, or for the erection of a new jail and jailor’s house, same to be jointly owned, used and maintained by said county and city on such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon by said board of supervisors and city council, and to authorize and empower said board of supervisors and city council to borrow money and issue bonds or notes for said purposes.
An ACT authorizing the council of the town of Wakefield to borrow not exceeding $50,000 and to issue bonds of the said town therefor for the purpose of advancing the money to the State highway commission under the provisions of an act approved March 21, 1924, entitled an act to amend and re-enact an act entitled an act to anticipate by counties or otherwise the construction of the State highway system, approved March 15, 1920, and to provide for the payment of the interest on said bonds and the redemption thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the city of Williamsburg to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $25,000.00, and to issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of refunding certain water and sewer system and public school bonds which were issued but not sold, and to pay off the floating indebtedness of the said city.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1 of an act entitled an act to provide for the issuing of county bonds for permanent road or bridge improvement in the magisterial districts of the county of Princess Anne
An ACT to amend and re-enact an act approved February 25, 1922, chapter 92, Acts of 1922, page 129, which act provides for the working and keeping in repair the public roads of Buchanan and Dickenson counties
An ACT to validate, ratify, approve and confirm certain bonds issued or to be issued by the town of Coeburn, Virginia, and an election held in said town on the fifteenth day of September, 1925, authorizing the issuing of said bonds providing funds for acquiring and improving a water system for said town.

An ACT to authorize the town council of the town of North Tazewell, in the county of Tazewell, to borrow money not in excess of twenty-five hundred dollars ($2,500.00), and to issue its bonds therefor, for the purpose of making a gift or contribution thereof to American Legion, Sidney Coulling Post, No. 133, to partially defray the cost, charges and expenses of erecting a memorial building on that lot of land located in the town of Tazewell, Tazewell county, Virginia, and mentioned in chapter No. 64 of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia, enacted in 1926, and to provide for the payment of the interest on the said bonds and the payment and redemption of the principal thereof.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Grayson to borrow a sum of money, not in excess of $6,000.00, in behalf of Wilson magisterial district, and to issue bonds of said county therefor, for the purpose of constructing the road in Wilson magisterial district recently surveyed from White Top to connect with route No. 12, at a point near Grant, via Cabin Creek, Helton and Rugby, and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to apply the unexpended proceeds from the sale of bonds for bridge purposes in said city issued under Acts of Assembly, 1920, chapter 125, to the payment to Elizabeth City county on public school bonds and on a public school in territory annexed to the city of Newport News.
An ACT to authorize the city school board of the city of South Norfolk to borrow money not in excess of $150,000.00, and to issue its bonds therefor, to be used for the construction of a high school for white children in the city of South Norfolk, and to require the council of said city, annually to levy taxes to pay the interest thereon, and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Grayson county to borrow the sum of $39,000.00, and to issue bonds therefor for the repair, improvement and construction of certain roads and bridges in Elk Creek and Providence magisterial districts of said county; to provide for the expenditure of the funds raised by such bond issues; to employ a competent road engineer, whose selection shall be approved by the chairman of the State highway commission, to make plans and specifications of all roads and bridges thereon, to be built or permanently improved from the proceeds of such bond issues, and to supervise the building of same; to employ and pay for the labor for construction of the roads mentioned; to specify the roads and parts thereof to be constructed, and the amounts to be expended thereon; to provide for imposing a tax on all property, county and district, including property in any incorporated town situated within the above-named districts, for the purpose of paying the interest and principal of such debt; to do all things necessary, needful or incidental to the main purpose of this act; and to declare an emergency.
An ACT to authorize the county school board of King William county to borrow not exceeding $25,000.00, and issue its bonds therefor
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Norfolk to borrow money by the issuance of bonds in a sum no to exceed one hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for the purpose of building and improving roads and bridges in the said county, and to sell the said bonds and to provide for their payment, and to authorize the commission of roads and bridges to expend the said funds when appropriated to it by the said board of supervisors.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Carroll to borrow money, not in excess of $75,000.00, and to issue bonds of the county therefor, for the purpose of surveying, constructing, repairing and improving certain roads and bridges, for Piper's Gap magisterial district of said county, and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of chapter 93 of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia entitled an act to provide for the retirement of registered certificates of the State issued to schools, colleges and other organizations, by authorizing and directing the issuance and sale of two million, four hundred and sixty-eight thousand, six hundred and five dollars and eighty-five cents ($2,468,605.85) of bonds of the Commonwealth of Virginia; and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and the principal thereof at maturity
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Elizabeth City to borrow the sum of thirty thousand ($350,000.00) dollars, and to issue the bonds of said county therefor, for the purpose of paying the expenses incurred by the county in making additions to the county jail and installing new cells therein; making additions to the record vault of the clerk's office and installing new fixtures therein; adding one jury room to the courthouse for the use of petit and grand jurors, and for installing a central heating plant in the addition to the jail for the purpose of heating said jail and courthouse of said county, and to authorize and require the said board of supervisors to levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in said county, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and create a sinking fund to retire the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of the county of Dickenson to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $12,000.00 and to issue bonds or certificates of indebtedness of the said county therefor, for the purpose of constructing and repairing the bridges in Willis magisterial district of said county; and to provide for the payment of the interest upon said
An ACT to authorize the school board of Loudoun county, with the approval of the board of supervisors of Loudoun county, to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $55,400.00, on account of Mercer, Leesburg and Mt. Gilead school districts of said county, and to issue bonds theretor, and provicie for the levying of a tax to pay the interest. and te create a sinking tund for the redemption of the principal of said bonds at their maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2601 of the Code of Virginia in relation to funding of the public debt, et cetera; the opening of the funding for one year from the date of the passage of this bill and the assuming of Virginia's two-thirds and the discontinuing of issuing West Virginia’s one-third certificates.
An ACT to authorize the town of Cape Charles to borrow $58,000.00 and issue bonds therefor for the purpose of refunding outstanding notes or certificates of indebtedness.
An ACT to amend and re-enact chapter 208 of the acts of 1926, entitled an act to authorize, empower and direct the board of supervisors of the county of Princess Anne to borrow money by the issuance of bonds in the aggregate sum of one hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) for the purpose of purchasing, building and improving roads and bridges in Seaboard magisterial district in said county; to sell the said bonds; to provide for the payment of interest thereon and principal thereof and to authorize the commission of roads and bridges of Princess Anne county for Seaboard magisterial district, to dispense the funds so obtained, approved March 18, 1926, by adding thereto two new sections to be numbered sections 8a and 8b, providing for the expenditure of the surplus of the funds raised under this act.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Carroll to borrow money, not in excess of $75,000.00, and to issue bonds of the county therefor, for the purpose of surveying, constructing, repairing and improving certain roads and bridges, for Laurel Fork magisterial district of said county, and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Elizabeth City to borrow the sum of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars, and to issue the bonds of said county therefor, the purpose of refunding an issue of bonds in the sum of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars, issued by the board of supervisors of Elizabeth City county on the fifteenth day of June, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, pursuant to resolution of said board of supervisors adopted on the fifteenth day of June, eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, for the purpose of rebuilding the county jail and making necessary repairs to the county clerk’s office of the county of Elizabeth City, and to authorize and require the said board of supervisors to levy a tax upon all property subject to local taxation in said county, sufficient to pay the interest on said bonds and to create a sinking fund to retire the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow a sum not exceeding forty thousand dollars and issue bonds therefor, to be used for the purchase of municipal equipment for said city.
An ACT to authorize the town council of the town of Appalachia, in Wise county, to issue and sell bonds of said town to an amount not exceeding thirty thousand dollars ($30,000.00) for the purpose of funding and refunding existing indebtedness of said town and to provide for the payment of the interest thereon and the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of the county of Carroll to borrow money, not in excess of $15,000.00, and to issue bonds of the county therefor, for the purpose of surveying, constructing, repairing and improving certain roads and bridges, for Fancy Gap magisterial district of said county, and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and to create a sinking fund to redeem the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2158 of the Code of Virginia, as amended, in relation to State depositories.
An ACT to authorize the city of Newport News to borrow eighty thousand dollars and to issue bonds therefor to be used by said city in making public improvements in territory annexed to the city of Newport News, under provisions of section 2958 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by act of assembly of Virginia, 1924, chapter 441.
An ACT to authorize the council of the city of Newport News to borrow a sum of money not exceeding $45,000.00, and to issue bonds or certificates of indebtedness therefor, for the purpose of purchasing property, if necessary, and for the establishment, construction and equipment of a public library and reading room in said city, and to provide for the payment of the interest on such bonds and the redemption of the principal thereof at maturity.
An ACT to validate certain judgments rendered upon pleadings which failed to contain certain allegations as to the assessment for taxation, of the bonds, notes and other evidences of debt sued on; and to protect the title to lands sold under deeds of trust, where the holder of the notes secured by the deed of trust, had not listed same for taxation.
An ACT to validate an ordinance of the city of Hopewell adopted by the city council of the city of Hopewell on the 29th day of August, 1927, authorizing the issue of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) worth of bonds, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of which is to be used to construct a jail and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) of which is to be used to institute and maintain sewerage and culverts and other public improvements in the city of Hopewell, and to validate an election held on the 8th day of November, 1927, submitting to the qualified voters of the city of Hopewell the right to pass on the issuing of said bonds, pursuant to chapter 122, of the Code of Virginia; and authorizing the city of Hopewell to issue fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) worth of bonds, twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) as jail bonds and twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) as sewerage and other public improvement bonds.
An ACT to authorize the town of Martinsville, in Henry county, Virginia, to issue bonds for the purpose of retiring, paying off or refunding certain bonds of said town, dated on May 1, 1894, payable May 1, 1928, for the purpose of constructing a system of water works for said town, pursuant to sections 29 and 77 of an act, approved March 3, 1802, entitled an act to amend and re-enact the charter of the town of Martinsville, in Henry county,
An ACT to authorize the town of Ashland, Virginia, to issue bonds
An ACT to create “the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Norfolk county bridge authority,” and to define the powers and duties of such authority.
An ACT to authorize the city of Hopewell to borrow money and issue bonds therefor for permanent public improvement in said city.
An ACT fixing the annual compensation of the board of supervisors
An ACT to create Arlington sanitary district, which shall include the entire county of Arlington; to create the “Arlington board of public works,” to define the powers and duties of said board; to invest said board with the power of eminent domain; to provide for the division of said sanitary district into zones, or sections; to provide for the purchase, construction, maintenance, operation and control of drainage and sewerage systems and sewerage disposal plants or works: for the construction of sidewalks: for the issuance of bonds to raise funds for such purposes; for the assessment of abutting property owners with certain amounts to be used in the construction and use of sewers and sidewalks; for the fixing and regulation of service and other charges for the connection with and use of sewers; for the pay of members, officers and employees; to prescribe penalties for violations: and to repeal chapter 260 of the acts of assembly of 1922, page 445, and chapter 463 of the acts of assembly of 1926, page 754, chapter 315 of the acts of assembly of 1926, page 531, and chapter 294 of the acts of assembly of 1926, page 510, in so far as it is applicable to the county of Arlington, and to repeal all other acts and parts of acts in conflict with any of the provisions of this act.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 4439 of the Code of Virginia, as amended.
An ACT to repeal chapter 252 of the acts of assembly of 1884, entitled ‘an act to provide for working of roads in the counties of Chesterfield, Powhatan and Goochland,” and all acts amendatory thereof, in so far as the same applies to the county of Powhatan, the same not to become effec- tive until approved by the people in an election to be held for the purpose.
An ACT to authorize the registration of bonds by counties and cities, and to provide for the delivery of such bonds when the officers signing the same are no longer in office.
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 32a of the charter of the city of Portsmouth, approved March 13, 1912, as amended by an act approved February 23, 1918, in reference to the issue of bonds.
