An ACT to revise, simplify, rearrange and consolidate into one act which shall constitute and be designated and cited as “The Motor Vehicle Code of Virginia,” the various statutes of the Commonwealth, concerning the registration and licensing of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, the licensing of chauffeurs, the collection of fees and disposition of funds collected, the operation of vehicles on the public roads, highways, streets, and alleys, the division of motor vehicles and the director of said division, the powers and duties of said division and director, and the penalties for violations of the provisions of certain such statutes; and to repeal all statutes and acts in conflict with the provisions of this act. |
An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1 of an act entitled an act to authorize the board of supervisors of counties having a density of population of more than five hundred per square mile according to the last United States census, to divide the area of said counties into one or more districts and in such districts to regulate the use of land and of buildings or other structures, and the height thereof, and also to establish building lines and to regulate and restrict the construction and location of buildings and other structures in said counties; to authorize such boards of supervisors to adopt all necessary regulations for carrying into effect the purposes of this act; to provide for zoning commissioners and boards of zoning appeals in such counties, their powers and duties; to provide for appeals from such zoning commissioners and boards of appeal and the effect thereof; to authorize such boards of supervisors to appoint administrative officers; to prescribe the powers and duties of such administrative officers; to provide for the enforcement of this act and to prescribe penalties for the violation thereof, approved April 11, 1927, as amended by an act approved March 24, 1930, extending said act to cover every county of the Commonwealth adjoining a city having a population of 170,000 or more, as shown by the last United States census, so as to further extend said act to include every county having a population of over 25,000 inhabitants and which adjoins two cities, both of which are located in this State and have an aggregate population of not less than 165,000 nor more than 185,000 inhabitants. |
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding to chapter 109-a thereof fifty-six new sections numbered 2773-n 1 to 2773-n 56, both inclusive, relating to the organization and government of counties, and providing for complete forms of county organization and government different from that provided for in article VII of the Constitution of Virginia, sections 110 to 115, both inclusive thereof, to become effective in any county in Virginia when submitted to the qualified voters thereof in an election held for such purpose and approved by a majority of those voting thereon, as is authorized by section 110 of the Constitution. |
