An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2726 of the Code of Virginia, as amended by an act approved March 10, 1920, entitled an act to amend section 2726 of the Code of Virginia, and as amended by an act approved March 28, 1922.

An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 4987-a as amended, 4987-b as amended, 4987-c, 4987-e, 4987-g as amended, 4987-1 and 4987-m, of the Code of Virginia, so as to provide for the fixing of the salaries of trial justices and their associates, substitutes, clerks, deputy clerks and clerical assistants, by a committee of judges of circuit courts; to provide for the appointment of such committee; to provide that such salaries shall be paid wholly by the State; and to provide for the disposition of fees and fines collected by the trial justices.
An ACT to provide for the payment of salaries to sheriffs of counties and, with certain exceptions, sergeants of cities, and to their full-time deputies, and for the payment of expenses incurred by such officers: to abolish the fee system as a method of compensating such officers; to provide for payment of the cost of the feeding and clothing of, and medicines and medical attention for, persons confined in jails and on jail farms; to make certain other provisions incident to the abolition of the said fee system; and to repeal certain acts in conflict with the provisions of this act.
An Act to amend and re-enact Section 4 of Chapter 364 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1934, approved March 29, 1934, relating to compensation of Commonwealth’s Attorneys and other officers.
An ACT to appropriate the public revenue for the two years ending respectively on the thirtieth day of June, 1943, and the thirtieth day of June, 1944, to prescribe the provisos, terms, conditions and provisions with respect to the items of appropriation and their payment, and to repeal all acts wholly in conflict with this bill, and all parts of all acts inconsistent with this bill to the extent of such inconsistency.

An ACT to amend and re-enact Section 6 of Chapter 44 of the Acts of Assembly of 1936-37, approved January 18, 1937, which provided a new charter for the town of Front Royal, and to amend the chapter by adding a new section numbered 70-a, Section 6 relating to salaries of mayor and councilmen, and the new section relating to the operation of public schools in connection with Warren county in the event of the town becoming a city.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 4, 6, 8 and 9 of Chapter 386 of the Acts of Assembly of 1942, approved April 2, 1942, relating to the compensation and expenses of sheriffs and sergeants, the feeding and care of jail prisoners and the payment of the costs thereof, the method of keeping and certifying accounts covering such costs, the furnishing of unusual medical, hospital and dental service to prisoners, and prohibiting the use of prisoners in certain instances.
An ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 3 and 10 of Chapter 386 of the Acts of Assembly of 1942, approved April 2, 1942, relating to the compensation and expenses of sheriffs and sergeants and the cities to which the chapter is applicable, so as to bring the city of Martinsville within the provisions of the chapter.
