An ACT to empower the board of supervisors of Wise county to settle, by compromise or otherwise, delinquent county and district taxes charged against the Fayette land company and successors in interest.

An ACT for the relief of T. B. Trevillian, sergeant of the town of Ashland, Virginia.
An ACT to authorize and empower the school board of Battletown district, Clarke county, to borrow money to erect a school-house.
An ACT to lease for a term of years ten acres of land lying under the waters of the York river, below low-water mark, in the county of Gloucester, including an artesian well thereon, and to provide for a survey of same and for fixing the price to be paid therefor per annum; and to permit said company to erect buildings and make improvements thereon, and to provide for the determination of all proper questions which may arise between the parties to any suit brought under this act.

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 525 of the code of Virginia in relation to the collection of fees of the commissioner of the revenue.
An ACT to repeal section 8 of an act approved February 11, 1898, entitled an act to amend and re-enact chapter 598 of the acts of the general assembly of Virginia, approved March 8, 1894, entitled an act in relation to making and keeping in repair the roads and bridges of Alexandria county, as amended by an act approved March 38, 1896, and to prohibit the use of money derived from the sale of bonds under an act approved December 19, 1899, from being used in the construction, making, or opening new roads, and providing that all work done and materials required upon the said roads shall be by contract after advertisement, and the same let to the lowest responsible bidder; and to authorize the board of supervisors to levy a tax not exceeding fifty cents upon the one hundred dollars’ value of such property; and providing how the money derived from the sale of the said bonds, under the act approved December 19, 1899, shall be expended and apportioned among the magisterial districts of the county, and to authorize the board of supervisors to employ a competent civil engineer, and to authorize the judge of the county court to appoint a board of audit, and to prescribe their duties.
An ACT to allow F. P. Smith, treasurer of Madison county ther time within which to distrain, levy, and collect certain tax ticket which he has accounted to the state.
An ACT to amend and re-enact paragraph 96 of schedule F of chapter 1 of an act approved March 6, 1890, entitled an act to provide for the assessment of taxes on persons, property, and incomes, and on licenses to transact business, and imposing taxes thereon for the support of the government and public free schools, and to pay the interest on the public debt, and prescribing the mode of obtaining licenses to sell wine, ardent spirits, malt liquors, or any mixtures thereof, in cases where a court certificate is required, as amended by an act approved February 24, 1894, and as amended by an act approved January 16, 1896, as far as the same relates to photographers’ licenses.
