Chap. 18. An ACT to authorize the State Highway Commissioner to convey
to the Chester Realty Development Corporation a certain parcel of real
estate in Chesterfield county, no longer needed for public use, in exchange
for a parcel of land now owned by the Chester Realty Development Cor-

Whereas, a certain parcel of land was secured from the Chester-
field Salvage Corporation by the county of Chesterfield, by deed dated
December twelfth, nineteen hundred and twenty-seven, and recorded
in deed book one hundred and ninety, page three hundred and seventy-
four, in the clerk’s office of the circuit court of Chesterfield county,
a portion of which is now no longer needed for public use; and —
Whereas, the Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department
of Highways, is anxious to secure from the Chester Realty Development
Corporation a parcel of land containing one and one-tenth acres, more
or less, located in Chesterfield county, Virginia, to be used for highway
purposes; and
Whereas, the said Chester Realty Development Corporation has
agreed to convey to the Commonwealth of Virginia said parcel if the
Commonwealth will convey its interest in that portion of property
which was secured from the Chesterfield Salvage Corporation, which
is no longer needed for public use; |
1. Now, therefore, be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Virginia, That upon receipt of a good and sufficient deed of general
warranty of title, properly executed and acknowledged, from the
Chester Realty Development Corporation conveying to the Common-
wealth of Virginia the parcel of land containing one and one-tenth
acres, more or less, located near the intersection of State highway
primary route number ten and secondary route C dash six hundred
and sixteen, in Chesterfield county, Virginia, the State Highway
Commissioner is authorized and empowered, in the name of and on
behalf of the Commonwealth of Virginia, to convey unto the Chester
Realty Development Corporation, by an appropriate and proper deed,
all right, title and interest which the Commonwealth has in the parcel
of land which is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the centerline of route ten, between the
intersection of route C dash six hundred and sixteen and route one,
shown on continuous roll as station seventy-one plus forty; thence
south sixty degrees forty-five minutes east, fifty and one-tenth feet
to station seventy-one plus ninety period one; thence to the left with
a two degree curve four hundred eighty-six and six tenths feet to
station seventy-six plus seventy-six period seven; thence south seventy
degrees thirty minutes east, four hundred and forty-three and three-
tenths feet to the lands of George West, being station eighty-one plus
twenty. |
The land conveyed hereunder being a strip or parcel fifteen feet
in width, lying on the north (left) side of and adjacent to a right
of way line, which is twenty-five feet north of and parallel to the
above described centerline, from station seventy-one plus forty to
station eighty-one plus twenty.

Said strip or parcel contains thirty-four one-hundredths acre, more
or less.
The purpose and intent of this conveyance is to convey to the
party of the second part all of the right of way that the party of the
first part may own outside of a normal fifty foot right of way on a line
parallel to and twenty-five feet distant from and north of the above
described centerline.
The above described strip or parcel is shown outlined in red on
blue print entitled:
“Sketch Showing Land to be Conveyed to the Chester Realty
Development Corp. by the Commonwealth of Virginia Dec. 17, 1936.
Scale 1”==100”’
and now on file in the office of the Department of Highways, Richmond,
Virginia.
Z. An emergency existing, this act shall be in force and effect
from the date of its passage.
