Repeal of legislation

1934
An ACT to validate conveyances of real estate by executors given power of sale under wills admitted to probate in other jurisdictions and to declare valid and effectual conveyances made hereafter under similar conditions; and to repeal an act entitled an act to validate conveyances of real estate by executors given power of sale under wills admitted to probate in other jurisdictions, approved March 14, 1924.
An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to provide a police commission for Norfolk county, to appoint and have supervision and control of the police force in said county; to prescribe the powers, duties and compensation of such commission and of such police force, and of the members of each; and to repeal chapter 404 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1922, approved March 24, 1922, and all amendments thereof, approved March 29, 1932.
An ACT to repeal an act approved March 24, 1932, entitled an act to prescribe the fees to be paid the coroner of the city of Portsmouth for certain services.

An ACT to repeal an act entitled an act to impose a license tax on pistols and revolvers; to regulate the sale thereof and of ammunition therefor; and to provide that the proceeds of such tax shall be used for the establishment of a diseased and crippled children’s hospital
An ACT to amend the Code of Virginia by adding thereto fifteen new sections, numbered 4987-a to 4987-0, both inclusive, providing for the appointment of trial justices and substitute trial justices in counties and in certain counties and cities; providing for the appointment of clerks for such trial justices, and prescribing the terms of office, jurisdiction, duties and compensation of such trial justices, substitute trial justices and clerks; providing that trial justices, substitute trial justices, and their clerks, selected and functioning under other acts, shall be subject to the said fifteen new sections as if appointed thereunder; providing for the appointment of associate trial justices in certain counties and prescribing their terms of office, jurisdiction, duties and compensation; providing for continuity between this and prior trial justice systems; enlarging authority of justices of the peace and mayors to issue attachments, warrants and subpoenas and as issuing officers; prescribing fees to be charged and collected by trial justices and clerks and providing for the disposition of moneys collected by such officers; appropriating for such purposes the sum of $60,000 annually for distribution among the counties; and exempting certain counties until they adopt the provisions of the foregoing sections; and to repeal Sections 4983 and 4988-a to 4988-p, both inclusive, of the Code of Virginia and certain other acts providing for the appointment or selection of trial justices, and all other acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act.

An ACT to repeal an act entitled “An act relating to the practice of law, and preventing persons, firms and corporations, not practicing attorneys, from appearing before any magistrate, civil or police justice, civil justice court, or any other court, to represent any claim or cause of any person, firm or corporation, unless the person, firm or corporation has a property interest in said claim or cause; preventing evasions of this act and prescribing penalties”

An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3422 of the Code of Virginia, as heretofore amended, relating to unauthorized practice of law and penalties therefor, and to repeal an act entitled “An act to extend the time within which a person to whom license had been issued prior to March 15, 1918, to practice law in Virginia, but who had been prevented from qualifying and commencing said practice within two years after the granting of said license by his entry into the military or naval service of the United States may qualify and commence said practice without further examination”, approved February 17, 1920.

AN ACT to amend and re-enact Sections 973, 975 as heretofore amended, and 976 of the Code of Virginia, relating to the powers and duties of the Board of Visitors and the Superintendent of the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind, and to repeal Section 978 of the Code of Virginia relating to funds for the support of said institution.
An ACT to authorize and empower boards of supervisors or other governing bodies of certain counties to establish, furnish and provide for police departments and police forces in such counties; to provide for the appointment, functions, powers, duties and compensation of police officers and chiefs of police in such counties; and to repeal certain acts and parts of acts inconsistent with the provisions of this act.

An ACT to repeal the charter of the Town of Mendota, in Washington county.
An ACT to repeal Section 17-a of “The Alcoholic Beverage Control Act,” which section was added thereto by chapter 144 of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1940, approved March 6, 1940, so as to eliminate certain taxes upon alcoholic beverages.
An ACT to repeal an act entitled "An act to make it unlawful to hunt for any kind of wild game in Caroline County at any time between one-half hour after sunset of any one day and one-half hour before sunrise of the day next following, and to prescribe penalties for violations."

An ACT requiring certain corporations and companies of other states to appoint the Secretary of the Commonwealth its attorney for certain purposes, to provide that transacting certain business or soliciting, making or delivering certain contracts in Virginia shall be deemed to be an appointment oi the Secretary of the Commonwealth as attorney for certain purposes, and to prescribe the duties of the Secretary of the Commonwealth when notice or process is served upon him in such cases and the effect of such service.

An ACT to repeal Section 51 of Chapter 407 of the Acts of Assembly of 1944, approved April 4, 1944, known as the Appropriation Act, relating to amounts to be deducted from State capitation taxes and credited to the general fund of the Commonwealth, before distribution to the counties and cities of the State.

An ACT to repeal Section 4440-a of the Code of Virginia prescribing punishment for larceny of certain rubber tires or tubes.
