An Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 67 of the Acts of Assembly
of 1956, approved February 17, 1956, which authorized the city of
Norfolk to acquire and convey certain property for certain purposes
and to authorize the city of Richmond to acquire and convey certain
property for certain purposes.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1 of Chapter 67 of the Acts of Assembly of 1956, approved
February 17, 1956, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. The city of Norfolk is hereby authorized and empowered to
acquire personal property or real property located within the city by pur-
chase, gift, condemnation, or otherwise, for the purpose of conveying the
same to * Old Dominion College or Old Dominion College Educational
Foundation, and is further authorized and empowered to convey property,
real or personal, or so much thereof as its governing body may think
proper, to * Old Dominion College or Old Dominion College Educational
Foundation, with or without charge therefor, and on such terms and con-
ditions as the governing body may deem proper, where the same is in the
best interest of the city.
§ 2. The city of Richmond is hereby authorized and empowered to
acquire personal property or real property located within the city by
purchase, gift, condemnation or otherwise for the purpose of conveying
the same to Virginia Commonwealth University or Richmond Profes-
sional Institute Foundation or Medical College of Virginia Foundation and
is further authorized and empowered to convey property, real or personal
or so much thereof as its governing body may think proper to Virginia
Commonwealth University or Richmond Professional Institute Founda-
tion or Medical College of Virginia Foundation with or without charge
therefor, and on such terms and conditions as the governing body may
deem proper where the same is in the best interest of the city.
