CHAPTER 502

An Act to amend and reenact § 37-27, as amended, of the Code of Virginia,
relating to the State Hospital Board. (S158)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 37-27, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:

37-27. The Board shall consist of * nine members to be ap-
pointed by the Governor, subject to confirmation by the General Assembly,
if in session when such appointment is made, and if not in session, then
at its next succeeding session. Appointments shall be made for terms of
four years each, * except appointments to fill vacancies which shall be
for the unexpired terms. No person shall be eligible to serve more than
two successive terms; provided that persons heretofore or hereafter ap-
pointed to fill vacancies may serve two additional successive terms. *
