CHAPTER 429

An Act to amend and reenact § 14.1-119 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to payments for services rendered to the public by the clerk of any
court of record in certain cities.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 14.1-119 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 14.1-119. Payments authorized to clerks of courts of record
in certain cities.—The clerk of any court of record of any city in the
State having a population in excess of one hundred ninety thousand
shall receive out of the treasury of such city, for services rendered to
the public of the city, such sum as the council may prescribe, not exceed-
ing * five thousand dollars in one year.
