CHAPTER 419

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
15.1-28.1, relating to the regulation and licensing by governing bodies
of garbage and refuse pick-up and disposal services.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
15.1-28.1. as follows:

§ 15.1-28.1. The governing body of any county, city or town in this
State may, by ordinance, impose license taxes upon and otherwise regulate
the services rendered by any business engaged in the pick-up and disposal
of garbage, trash or refuse, wherein service will be provided to the resi-
dents of any such county, city or town.
