An Act to prohibit the use of plastic cleaning bags; providing a penalty.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1, § 1. (a) No person shall sell, offer for sale, or deliver, or offer for
delivery, or give away any plastic bag or partial plastic bag intended to
enclose freshly cleaned clothing, the length of which totals twenty-five
inches or more and the material of which is less than one mil (1/ 1000
inch) in thickness; unless such plastic bag bears the following warning
statement, or a warning statement which the Commissioner of Health has
approved as the equivalent thereof :
NING: to avoid danger of suffocation, keep this plastic bag
away from babies and children. Do not use this bag
in cribs, beds, carriages or play pens.’
(b) Such warning statement shall be imprinted in a prominent place
on the plastic bag or shall appear on a label securely attached to the bag
in a eorment place, and shall be printed in legible type of at least 36
poin
(c) Violators of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
