CHAPTER 300

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
15.1-827.1, relating to disapproval of sewerage systems by governing
bodies of counties and towns.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
15.1-827.1, as follows:

§ 15.1-327.1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law relating
to the approval of sewerage systems, the governing body of any county
which has adopted a master plan for sewerage is authorized to deny an
application for a sewerage system if such denial shall to it appear to be
in the best interest of the inhabitants of such county. The provisions of
this section also shall be applicable to the governing body of any town
which has adopted a master plan for sewerage and which has, under its
charter, authority to approve or disapprove such applications.
