CHAPTER 291

An Act to amend and reenact § 58-847 as amended, of the Code of
Virginia, relating to cities, towns and counties providing for the
collection of taxes in installments.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 58-847 as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:

§ 58-847. Cities, towns and certain counties may provide for collec-
tion of taxes in installments.—The governing body of any county * or
of any city or town in this State may provide by ordinance for the
collection of county, city or town taxes or levies on property in install-
ments at such times and with such penalties for nonpayment in time as
may be fixed by ordinance.
