An Act to amend and reenact § 24-290.3, as amended, of the Code of
Virginia, relating to how names of electors submitted for candidates
for President and Vice President. rH 713]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 24-290.8, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 24-290.38. How other groups may submit names of electors.—Any
group of qualified voters of not less than one thousand in number, not
constituting a political party as defined in § 24-290.2, may have the names
of electors selected by them, including one elector residing in each Con-
gressional district and two from the State at large, printed upon the
Official ballot to be used in the election of electors for President and Vice
President by filing a petition so requesting with the State Board of Elec-
tions not less than * sizty days before said election. Said petition, which
shall be signed by said voters and the signatures to which shall be wit-
nessed by a person whose affidavit to that effect is attached to said peti-
tion, shall set forth the names of the electors selected by such voters, the
party name under which they desire the electors so selected to be listed
on the ballot, and the names of the candidates for President and Vice
President for whom such electors are expected to vote in the Electoral
College. The party name selected by any such group of qualified voters
