CHAPTER 228

An Act to provide when merged counties and cities, or combination of
merged counties and cities, may have the services of the State Police.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

- $1. Hereafter when a county or city merges into a city, or a com-
bination of counties and cities merge into a city, the governing body of
such city may request of the Superintendent of State Police, and upon such
request he shall grant, the services of the Department of State Police in
those areas of the counties which were merged into such city for a period
of ten years after the effective date of such merger.
