CHAPTER 210
An Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter 698, Acts of Assembly of
1966, approved April 6, 1966, which created the Virginia Independ-
ence Bicentennial Preliminary Commission, so as to change the name
of such Commission; to increase the membership of such Commis-
sion; and to eliminate the expiration date of the terms of the members.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 1 of Chapter 698, Acts of Assembly of 1966, approved April 6,
1966, be amended and reenacted as follows:
§ 1. There is hereby created the Virginia Independence Bicentennial
* Commission, hereinafter referred to as the “Commission”. The Commis-
sion shall be composed of * fifteen members who shall be appointed as
ollows:
(a) Three members shall be appointed by the President of the Senate
from the membership thereof ;
(b) Five members shall be appointed by the Speaker of the House of
Delegates from the membership thereof ; and
(c) * Seven members shall be appointed by the Governor from the
State at large.
* Any member may be removed by the appointing authority for
cause. Vacancies shall be filled in the same manner as the original
appointments.
