CHAPTER 117

An Act to amend and reenact § 19, as amended, of Chapter 34 of the
Acts of Assembly of 1918, approved February 7, 1918, which pro-
vided a charter and special form of government for the city of Nor-
folk, which section relates to the nomination of candidates for the
council so as to provide that the general State law is applicable; and
to repeal § 20, as amended, of such chapter, which section relates to
acceptance by a candidate.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 19, as amended, of Chapter 34 of the Acts of Assembly of
1918, approved February 7, 1918, be amended and reenacted as follows:

§ 19. Notice of Candidacy and Petition.

Candidates for the council * shall be * qualified * voters of the city *
and, subject to the provisions of * § 21 hereof, * shall file their notice of
candidacy and their petition in the manner provided by general State law.

2. § 20, as amended, of Chapter 34 of the Acts of Assembly of 1918,
approved February 7, 1918, is repealed.
3. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
