CHAPTER 687

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
46.1-198.1, relating to evidence admissible in trials of persons charged
with violations of exceeding speed limits. -

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
46.1-193.1, as follows:

-§ 46.1-193.1. In the trial of any person charged with exceeding any
maximum speed limit in this State, the court may receive as evidence a
sworn report of the results of a calibration test of the accuracy of the
speedometer in the motor vehicle operated by the defendant or the arrest-
ing officer at the time of the alleged offense.
