Approved April 5, 1966
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
§8-397.1 as follows:
§ 58-397.1. Coin operated massaging bed devices may be installed
by any person, firm or corporation in hotel and lodging house rooms and
hospital rooms, upon the payment of a State license tax of one dollar per
annum per massaging bed device. Licenses to cover any number of such
massaging bed devices in any particular hotel, lodging house or hospital
may be applied for in one application and in such case there shall be only
one issuance fee of seventy-five cents under § 58-266 for licenses covering
the number of massaging bed devices specified in such application for in-
stallation and operation at the particular location described in such appli-
cation. A separate application shall be required for each location. The
operation of coin operated massaging bed devices shall not require the
ing out of an operator’s license in addition to the license for each in-
dividual] massaging bed device. The license taxes imposed by this section
are in lieu of the license tax imposed on such devices by § 68-855, as
amended, and shall not be subject to proration.
