An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by udding a section numbered
82-8.1 so as to permit the State Board of Health to care for and treat
certain diseases; to make charges for such care and treatment; and to
provide for the disposition of funds received in payment for such
reatment.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
82-8.1, as follows:
§ 32-8.1. (a) The Board may provide home health services de-
scribed in Titles XVIII and XIX of Public Law ninety-seven of the eighty-
ninth Congress, approved July 30, 1965, entitled the “Social Security
Amendments of 1965”, for persons having chronic or other disabling con-
ditions or diseases, whenever such services may be requested by a duly
licensed physician for the benefit of his patient.
_ (b) Charges for persons receiving care or treatment provided under
this section shall be determined by rates established by the Board.
(c) Persons receiving care or treatment provided for under this
section shall, insofar as they are able to do so, pay for the expense of their
care or treatment. Funds so received in payment are hereby appropriated
to the Board for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this section.
