CHAPTER 502

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
46.1-848.2, relating to restricting permits issued for excessive size
and weight.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding thereto a section
numbered 46.1-343.2, as follows:

§ 46.1-343.2. Any permit which has been heretofore or is hereafter
issued by the State Highway Commissioner or local authorities of cities
and towns pursuant to § 46.1-343 (b) or (c) or § 46.1-343.1 (a) may be
restricted so as to prevent travel on any federal-aid highway if the con-
tinuation of travel on such highway would result in a loss of federal-aid
funds. Before any such permit is restricted by the Commissioner, or local
authority, notice in writing must be given to the permittee.
