CHAPTER 487

An Act to permit the governing bodies of certain counties to eliminate
public hearings before planning commissions. rH 290]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of §§ 15.1-481, 15.1-448,
15.1-453 and 15.1-493, the governing body of any county having a popula-
tion of more than seven thousand three hundred and less than seven thou-
sand eight hundred and of any county having a population of more than
twenty-seven thousand three hundred but less than twenty-seven thousand
six hundred and of any county having a population of more than seventy

thousand but less than seventy-five thousand may, by ordinance, eliminate

public hearings before the planning commission as a requirement of such

commission 8 recommendation to the governing body pursuant to Chapter
O e 15.1.
