An Act to amend and reenact § 63-59, as amended, of the Code of Vtr-
ginia, relating to compensation and expenses of local boards of welfare.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 63-59, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:

§ 63-59. Each member of the local board of a county or of a city *
shall be paid his necessary traveling and other expenses incurred in at-
tendance upon meetings and while otherwise engaged in the discharge of
his duties as such member. In addition to such expenses, the board of
supervisors or other governing body of each county and the council or
other governing body of each city * may, out of the general fund of such
county or city, pay to each member of the local board of such county or
city, as compensation for his services as such member, not in excess of
* stz hundred dollars per year. But no such county or city shall be reim-
