An Act to wmend and reenact § 10-18, as amended, of the Code of Virginia,
relating to certain authority of the Director of the Department of
Conservation and Economic Development in the expenditure of State
advertising funds.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 10-18, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 10-18. Subject to the direction of the Board the Director shall
have control of the expenditure of any State advertising funds, except such
funds as may be appropriated to the Division of Industrial Development
and Planning established in the office of the Governor, and shall have
control of and expend such funds for advertising the resources and ad-
vantages of the Commonwealth and in the promotion of tourism in such
manner as he may deem best. In addition to other expenditures, the Di-
rector may expend such funds for the purchase or lease of lands or butld-
ings outside the Commonwealth and for the construction thereon of tourist
information stations. The Director shall cooperate so far as it may be
practicable and expedient with other organizations in the State engaged
in similar or related work, and shall have full power and authority to
acquire by gift or transfer property or funds to be so expended.
