An Act to amend and reenact § 18.1-180 of the Code of Virginia, relatin
to identification marks on certain appliances. CH 786

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. P oe § 18.1-130 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacte
as follows:
8 18.1-130. No person, firm, association or corporation, either ind
vidually or in association with one or more other persons, firms, associ:
tions or corporations shal] remove, change or alter the serial number
other identification number stamped upon, cut into or attached as a pe
manent part of any household or electrical or electronic appliance * whe!
such number was stamped upon, cut into or attached to such appliance h
the manufacturer thereof.
No person, firm, association or corporation shall knowingly have |
his or its possession for purposes of resale a household or electrical ¢
electronic appliance, * the serial number or other identification number «
which has been removed, changed or altered.
Any person, firm, association or corporation violating the provisior
of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
