CHAPTER 443

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
11-20.1, relating to the letting of public contracts by the State of
Virginia, or any department, institution or agency thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
11-20.1, as follows:

§ 11-20.1. Whenever any bidder is a resident of any other state and
such state under its laws allows a resident contractor of that state a
preference measured by a percentage of the difference between the bid
submitted by such contractor and the bid submitted by a contractor who
is a resident of another state, a like preference may be allowed to the
lowest responsible bidder who is a resident of the State of Virginia.
