CHAPTER 439

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
8-654.4, to abolish the defense of lack of privity in certain actions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
8-654.4, as follows:

§ 8654.4. In cases not provided for in § 8.2-318 where recovery
of damages for injury to person, including death, or to property resulting
from negligence is sought, lack of privity between the parties shall be
no defense.
