An Act to construe the effect of certain statutes requiring certain reports
upon the charters of certain societies incorporated by the General
Assembly of Virginia prior to nineteen hundred. < san

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. The charter of every social, patriotic and benevolent society in-
corporated by an act of the General Assembly of Virginia prior to the year
nineteen hundred for the purpose of perpetuating the memory of men in the
military, naval and civil service of the colonies and of the Continental Con-
gress shall be deemed to have remained, and to be, in full force and effect
notwithstanding the provisions of § 13.1-290 of the Code of Virginia or any
other statute enacted after January one nineteen hundred fifty, or regula-
tion pursuant thereto requiring the filing of any report or reports with the
State Corporation Commission or the clerk thereof; provided, however, that
all such reports which under such statutes should have been so filed shall be
filed with the clerk of the State Corporation Commission on or before August
one, nineteen hundred and sixty-six; provided, further, that such corpora-
tion hereafter shall be deemed to hold its charter subject to the provisions
