An Act to amend and reenact § 28-4.1 of the Code of Virginia, relating
to sale of interest in real property acquired by will or deed of gift
by board of visitors or trustees of State educational institutions.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
a That § 23-4.1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 23-4.1. The boards of visitors or trustees of all State educational
institutions, with the approval of the Governor first obtained, are hereby
authorized to sell and convey whatever interest they may have in real
property that has been or may hereafter be acquired by purchase, will or
deed of gift.
The proceeds from such sales and conveyances shall be held, used and
administered in the same manner as all other gifts and bequests are held,
used and administered.
Nothing in this section shall be construed as authorizing or empower-
ing the sale and conveyance of such real property contrary to the terms
and conditions of the will or deed of gift.
Such board of visitors or trustees are authorized to grant easements
for roads, streets, sewers, water lines, electric and other utility lines or
other purposes on any property now owned or hereafter acquired by such
boards of visitors or trustees, when, in the discretion of such visitors or
trustees tt 1g deemed proper to grant such easement.
