CHAPTER 163

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered 17-
187.6, so as to provide an additional judge for the Corporation Court
of the City of Danville. 8 216)

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
17-137.6, as follows: .

§ 17-137.6. Notwithstanding the provisions of § 17-137.2, on and
after July one, nineteen hundred sixty-six, there shall be an additional
judge for the Corporation Court of the City of Danville. Such judge shall
reside within the corporate limits of the city, and his compensation, powers,
duties and jurisdiction shall be the same as are now or may be hereafter
conferred or imposed upon corporation courts and the judges thereof by
general law or statutes applicable to the city. The office shall be filled in the
same manner as provided in § 17-137.1, and thereafter as provided by law.
The judges of the Corporation Court of the City of Danville are hereby
authorized to sit as a two judge court in their discretion.

2. Anemergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
