CHAPTER 114

An Act to amend and reenact § 1 of Chapter IV of Chapter 481 of the
Acts of Assembly of 1950, approved April 6, 1950, which provided a
charter for the city of Hopewell, the section relating to the compo-
sition, election and compensation of council. [H 237]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 1 of Chapter IV of Chapter 431 of the Acts of Assembly of
1950, approved April 6, 1950, be amended and reenacted as follows:
Chapter IV. 81. The council shall consist of five members elected
as provided in Chapter 3. They shall receive in full compensation for their
services the sum of * one hundred dollars per month and shall not be
entitled to any other allowance of any kind except that the mayor or
president of the council shall be entitled to * one hundred fifty dollars
per month in full compensation for his services. Said salary shall
payable 1 in monthly or semimonthly installments as other city Officers
are pai
