Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia: ,
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
14.1-11.2, as follows: |

§ 14.1-11.2. Notwithstanding any other provisions of this title, the
governing body of any city having a population of not less than ninety
thousand nor more than ninety-five thousand may, in its discretion, sup-
plement the compensation of the city sergeant, city treasurer, commis-
sioner of the revenue or attorney for the Commonwealth, or any of their
employees, above the salary of any such officer or employee established in
this title, in such amounts as it may deem expedient. Such additional com-
pensation shall be wholly payable from the funds of any such city and
shall not exceed one-half of the amount of participation by the State in
the amount of the salary of the officer or employee. |
