42 Act to amend and reenact § 24-8, as amended, of the Code of Virginia,
relating to Congressional districts. H

Approved September 7, 1965

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 24-3, as amended, of the Code of Virginia, be amended and
reenacted as follows:

£ 24-3. The cities of Newport News, Hampton, Virginia Beach and
W:lliamsburg and the counties of Accomack, * James City, Gloucester,
Mathews, Middlesex, * Northampton, and York shall constitute the first
Congressional district.

The cities of Norfolk * and Portsmouth shall constitute the second
Congressional district... - a eo

The * city of * Richmond and the’ counties of Chesterfield and
Henrico shall constitute the third Congressional district. :

The cities of Chesapeake, Colonial Heights, Franklin, Petersburg,
suffolk and Hopewell and the counties of Amelia, Appomattox, Lunen-
arg, Buckingham, Cumberland, Dinwiddie, Greensville, Isle of Wight, *
‘ansemond, Nottoway, Powhatan, Prince Edward, Prince George,
southampton, Surry and Sussex shall constitute the fourth Congressional
istrict. ;

The cities of Danville, Martinsville, South Boston, and Galax and the
vanties of Campbell, Pittsylvania, Henry, Franklin, Patrick, Carroll,
rayson, Halifax, Charlotte, Brunswick and * Mecklenburg shall consti-
tte the fifth Congressional district.

The cities of Roanoke, Lynchburg, Radford, Clifton Forge and Cov-
on, and the counties of * Amherst, Nelson, Bedford, Roanoke, Mont-
meryv, Floyd, Craig, Botetourt and Alleghany shall constitute the sixth
-gressional district.

The cities of Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Waynesboro, Winchester,
inton and Buena Vista, and the counties of Albemarle, Culpeper,
one. Fluvanna, Orange, Clarke, Frederick, Rappahannock, Page, Rock-
am. Shenandoah, Warren, * Augusta, Bath, Highland, Madison, * and
bridge shall constitute the seventh Congressional district.

The * city of * Fredericksburg and the counties of * Essex, Charles
King and Queen, New Kent, Caroline, Fauquier, * Goochland, *
moreland, Lancaster, Richmond, Northumberland, Hanover, King
Loudoun, Louisa, * Prince William, Spotsylvania, * King William
‘tafford and that part of Fatrfaz County comprising Mount Vernon,
ind Centreville magisterial districts and those parts of Dranesville
Providence magisterial districts situated north and west of the Inter-
highways numbered sizty-siz and four hundred ninety-five shall con-

te the eighth Congressional district.

The cities of Bristol and Norton and the counties of Lee, Scott, Wise,
Dickenson, Buchanan, Russell, Washington, Smyth, Pulaski, ‘Giles, ‘Bland,
Wythe and Tazewell shall constitute the ninth Congressional district.

The cities of Alexandria, Fairfax and Falls Church, * the * county
of Arlington and that part of Fairfax County comprising Falls Church
and Mason magisterial districts and those parts of Dranesville and Provi-
dence magisterial districts situated south and east of the Interstate high-
ways numbered sixty-six and four hundred ninety-five shall constitute
the tenth Congressional district.

the Commonwealth of Virginia, at which the Acts of Assembly herein
printed were enacted, adjourned sine die on September third, nineteen
