CHAPTER 3

An Act to amend and reenact § 15.1-9, as amended, of the Code of Virginia,
relating to employment of assistants to Commonwealth’s attorneys.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 15.1-9, as amended, of the Code of Virginia be amended and
reenacted as follows:

§ 15.1-9. Every county and city may, with the approval of the Compen-
sation Board, provide for employing such assistant or assistants to the Com-
monwealth’s attorney as in the opinion of the governing body may be
required. Such assistant or assistants shall be appointed by the Common-
wealth’s attorney. The compensation for such assistants to the Common-
wealth’s attorneys shall be as provided for assistants to Commonwealth’s
attorneys under § 14.1-53.

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
