An Act to amend and reenact §§ 29-158.1 and 29-158.2 of the Code of
Virginia, relating to fishing in interstate nontidal waters, and recipro-
cal agreements pertaining thereto. rH 290]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That §§ 29-153.1 and 29-153.2 of the Code of Virginia be amended
and reenacted as follows:
§ 29-153.1. It shall be lawful for a citizen of an adjoining state, hav-
ing nontidal * water lying and being situated partly in such adjoining state
and partly in the State of Virginia, or a citizen of the State of Virginia, to
take fish with hook and line, fly, troll or spinner after complying with the
requirements of the laws of the state of which he is a citizen for the taking
of fish in such interstate nontidal * waters of such state.
§ 29-153.2. The Commission of Game and Inland Fisheries shall
have the necessary power and authority to enter into a reciprocal agree-
ment with an adjoining state having nontidal * waters lying and being
situated partly in such adjoining state and partly in the State of Virginia
relating to the following:
(a) Recognition of a resident sport fishing license acquired in an
adjoining state when it is used by the resident of such state, whose name
appears on the face of such license, when such licensee is fishing in that
portion of said nontidal * waters lying and being situated in the State of
Virginia. Such recognition shall be contingent upon a like recognition of
said adjoining state giving such recognition to a resident licensee of the
State of Virginia while such licensee is fishing in that portion of such
nontidal * waters lying and being situated in such adjoining state.
(b) State creel limits, open seasons for fishing and all other laws
and regulations of the state entering into such agreement shall be strictly
observed, and failure of any person to comply with the rules and regula-
tions set up under such agreement shall be a misdemeanor and punished
accordingly.
