An Act to amend and reenact § $8.1-257.1 of the Code of Virgtnta, relat-
ing to insurance which may be written in combination with fire
Insurance.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. , That § 38.1-257.1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 38.1-257.1. Approval of policies or forms for writing other kinds
of insurance in combination with fire insurance; supervision of rates
under such policies.—
The Commission may approve for use in this State policies or forms
for writing at divisible or indivisible rates and premiums any or all the
kinds of insurance set forth in §§ 38.1-225 and 38.1-240, except workmen’s
compensation insurance as defined in § 38.1-17, * and except insurance
on or with respect to operating properties of railroads, in combination
with fire insurance as defined in § 38.1-6. The combination policies or
forms provided for in this section, when approved by the Commission,
shall be under the filing and statistical supervision of such rating or sta-
tistical organizations as may be approved by the Commission or desig-
nated by law for this purpose; provided, however, that notwithstanding
the provisions of § 38.1-271 the rate of each indivisible premium policy
and the rate on the fire and miscellaneous insurance portion on each
divisible premium policy shall, to the extent required by the Commission,
be checked for accuracy by the Virginia Insurance Rating Bureau, except
when used to provide insurance on or with respect to property or risks
protected in whole or in part by automatic sprinklers when such risks
are insured in connection with an inspection service. Such combination
policies or forms shall include the standard provisions, conditions, stipula-
tions and agreements set forth in § 38.1-366 or such other provisions not
less favorable to the insured as may be approved by the Commission.
