An Act to provide for the donation by adult individuals of their eyes or
any part thereof; to provide how the donations may be effectuated;
and to provide for other matters in connection with the foregoing.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Every inhabitant of this State of the age of twenty-one years
or more and of sound mind may, by his will or by a written instrument
executed in the same manner as a will, arrange for or prescribe for the
disposition to be made, after death, of his eyes, or any part thereof,
provided the same is for the purpose of scientific use, or for other
advancement of medical science, or for the replacement or rehabilitation
of diseased eyes of other humans. The person or persons having the right
to a body for burial may likewise consent to such use of the eyes thereof.
Any such disposition of his own eyes may be revoked by the testator or
grantor at any time prior to his death by the execution of a written instru-
ment in the same manner as the original grant.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
