An Act to authorize and empower the State Hospital Board to convey to
the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Company, a
parcel of land in exchange for land now owned by said railroad.

Whereas, by deed dated October 29, 1958, and recorded in the Clerk’s
Office of the Chancery Court of the City of Richmond on October 31, 1958,
in Deed Book No. 589-C at Page 25, the Commonwealth of Virginia, State
Hospital Board, acquired certain real estate located at the southeast corner
of Westwood and Lanvale Avenues, as shown on a plat made by George
M. Stephens, C.L.S., dated June 25, 1958, which plat is attached to and
made a part of the aforesaid deed; and
Whereas, said property was acquired for the use and benefit of the
State Hospital Board; and
Whereas, it appears that said State Hospital Board no longer needs
said real estate; now, therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the proper officers of the State Hospital Board be, and they are
hereby, authorized and empowered to convey, on behalf of the Common-
wealth, by deed to the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad
Company, with special warranty of title, the real estate acquired by the
aforementioned deed, recorded as aforesaid, in exchange for certain land
owned by the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad Company,
containing 47,555 square feet, or 1.092 acres, designated as parcel no. 1
and parcel no. 2 on a plat by J. M. Timmons, Civil Engineer, situated
adjacent to the east and north sides of the property now occupied by the
Division of Motor Vehicles office building, north of Broad Street in the
City of Richmond, being simultaneously conveyed to the Commonwealth
of Virginia, Division of Motor Vehicles, by the Richmond, Fredericksburg
and Potomac Railroad Company.
The deed of conveyance from the State Hospital Board and the deed
of conveyance by the Richmond, Fredericksburg and Potomac Railroad
Company to the Commonwealth shall be approved as to form by the
Attorney General.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
