An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
24-884.1, relating to assistance of certain voters in the preparation
of absentee ballots; and providing a penalty. CH 588]

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
24-334.1 as follows:
§ 24-334.1. Any person registered, who is blind, or physically inca-
pacitated, may, if he so requests, be aided in the preparation of his ballot
and voucher by a person of his choice. Such other person so designated
shall assist the elector in the preparation of his ballot and voucher in
accordance with his instructions, and shall not in any manner divulge or
indicate, by sign or otherwise, the name or names of the person or persons
for whom any elector shall vote. For a corrupt violation of any of the pro-
visions of this section, the person so violating shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and be confined in jail not less than one month nor more
than twelve months.
