CHAPTER 540

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
24-184.1, relating to when nominations of certain candidates for office
shall be made. |

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
24-184.1 as follows:

§ 24-134.1. Nominations for candidates for county and city offices
shall be made and completed by the several parties in the manner pro-
vided by law on or before the Tuesday after the second Monday in July
next preceding the election for such offices, except that in the event a
second primary be required, such party for which such primary is
required shall make and complete its nominations on the fifth Tu
following the first primary, and the chairman of such party shall certify
the names of its candidates as required by § 24-134.
