Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
ta That § 58-76 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
ollows:
§ 58-76. No clerk shall issue any writ, or docket any removed or
appealed warrant, or any notice mentioned in this article until the tax
thereon shall be paid; but his failure to collect the tax shall not invalidate
the proceeding. No clerk shall be held responsible for failure to collect
the on tax on cross-claims filed prior to July one, nineteen hundred
sixty-four.
